Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
OH MAH GOODNESS!! This soup really didn't taste what I thought it would taste like. It's like a WORLD BETTER! The flavor is so well rounded....I really didn't even think it needed garlic or anything else added to it. I had initially thought that the flour needed to be cooked and was going to do that with the mushrooms but said what the hey...I followed the directions and I am so glad that I did! Wonderful soup! No flour-y taste at all. Just follow the directions folks and you will have a pot of good soup!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! And it was too easy too. I followed the directions and also followed the advice of all of the reviewers and doubled the yeast and also added more sweet stuff ...molasses 1/4 cup, honey 1/3 cup and also put 1/4 cup wheat germ and 1/4 flax meal. The loaves rose nicely and taste fabulous. I think I will put some oats in there the next time too. Such a flexible recipe ....really gave me more confidence with bread making. It"s good for you too!

Sweet Potato Pie from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Very easy recipe that I am using again for the second time. The first time I did add some cloves and allspice and only used one large sweet potato. I also fixed the filling and then put it in a ziploc bag and froze it. On Thanksgiving day I thawed which didn't take long since I put it in a gallon bag and smashed thin..then I just cut off a corner of the bag and scooted it all in the pie shell...simple simple simple.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2003
I gave this bread away for Christmas. I did add a cup of fresh cranberries that I had chopped in half which gave it wonderful color and also tasted GREAT! Right after these breads cooled I put them straight in the freezer until time to give away. They were delicious!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2003
This recipe is just delicious. I used the chicken stock and one 8 oz. cube of cream cheese and it came out creamy and GOOD! I could even use this soup for a nice sit down dinner if I wanted and it fixes up so quickly!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2001
My family just LOVES this bread...it's a little bit sweet. I used Michelob Light beer and I figure that the alcohol in the beer probably bakes out. The whole crew had fits over it and it took probably 5 minutes to throw together and get in the oven.

Baked French Toast

This is just too easy to fix! And the added help of being able to stick it in the fridge overnight and just pulling it out in the morning is wonderful and makes having breakfast for company a breeze.

Pig Picking Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2001
This is a GREAT cake. My family just loves it! It is especially good in the spring and summertime as it is light and fruity. But one thing to remember...it really doesn't travel well....so it's best to make it where you're going to serve it.
