About this Cook
I love cooking! I just got married, so I'm LIVING on this site, looking for new creations to wow my hubby and new family.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking fish. I also love finding new and inventive ways to prepare vegetables and salads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is from India, so I am lucky to have so many South Indian traditional recipes in my family. And my sweet grandmother on my dad's side has so many tricks up her sleeve, I am constantly calling her for recipes and cooking advice.
My cooking triumphs
According to my husband, everything I've ever made for him :) I make a mean crawfish etouffee, Asian salmon and stir-fry, corn chowder, spaghetti and meatballs, and rum cake.
My cooking tragedies
Baking is scary.

Ricotta Spaghetti
Super bland, but after adding a whole lot of garlic (I fried it in some olive oil first) and fresh basil, it was alright. I put a spoonful of sun-dried tomato pesto over it and served it along side of a super-rich entree, and the light taste complimented the meal well. 2 stars because the recipe leaves much to be desired when prepared as-is.

Sangria by the Pros
I like this recipe. It was very tasty. The fruit was a bit chunky for me. I ended up draining the finished brew and adding fresh fruit to the cocktails I served for presentation.

Easy Meatloaf
This is so easy to make, and it tastes delicious!! I took the other users' suggestions and used seasoned bread crumbs. I also like to add some rooster sauce to the ketchup blend to give it a little kick. If my husband is too hungry to wait out the baking time, I'll make 4 mini meatloaves instead.. then it only takes about 30 minutes to bake. Great recipe!
