About this Cook
A stay-at-home mom of one, I keep busy trying out new recipes on my unsuspecting family! I'm always on the lookout for a better recipe than the one I have.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy baking desserts and breads. Those are probably the recipes I search the most for. I haven't found the perfect recipe for dinner rolls yet. Any suggestions?
My favorite family cooking traditions
This one isn't so much a cooking tradition as it is an eating tradition. While I was growing up, whenever we had pizza for dinner (homemade or order in), we always had to eat applesauce as the side dish. I suppose it was my mom's way of trying to eat 'healthier'. I've continued this tradition with my family. Applesauce + pizza = YUM!
My cooking triumphs
My first completely made from srcatch homemade apple pie was a hit! Lattice crust on top and everything. That was a proud day for me. It looked as good as it tasted.
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies usually stem from me not following the instructions carefully. Case in point.... forgetting to put the sugar in a sweet corn bread recipe. Didn't turn out very tasty and sweet at all!!!

Southern Butter Rolls
Super easy, super tasty! Family loved these rolls. I paired this with a butternut squash soup and salad for a delicious dinner. Will try to make with whole wheat flour and see what happens.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Great recipe. It was even better the next day after we had covered our dish in foil and left it out on the stovetop over night. Moist, slightly sweet, with just the right amount of density. Good stuff!

Banana Pancakes I
Delicious! I added the vanilla other reviewers mentioned as well as some cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. These tastes great with a homemade buttermilk syrup. Very Yummy!
