Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This soup is amazing! Perfect consistency and flavor. Used three cubes of chicken bullion because that is what I had on hand, which worked great. Will use this method for all future cream-based soups.

Taffy Apple Salad I

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Was apprehensive to use vinegar in this recipe, but somehow it worked. Put a dash of cinnamon and salt in the sauce, which made it better in my opinion. Only used about 4 oz of whipped topping. This was a fun recipe.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
My mom makes a killer chocolate chip cookie, but these have her beat. (Sorry mom!) This recipe comes out perfect every time. I always stick a few extra chocolate chips on the top after they are in balls because they look prettier. In my opinion, the ideal bake time is nine minutes. Make sure you place on a cooling rack after three minutes or they will continue baking.

Cherry Limeade I

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
This was a very good recipe. Used Cherry 7-up in place of lemon-lime soda. Also added a few drops of red food color to brighten it up.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Was trying to find an intersting drink to serve at my wedding. Adapted a bit and made berry sangria instead. Added frozen strawberry and raspberry juice. Then, put in some berry arbor mist with rose wine. Diluted it with strawberry sparkling water. Put some frozen strawberries and raspberries for an added touch. Anyone that gets married requests my berry sangria!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Don't get me wrong, this is a very good fudgy brownie recipe. However, I have been searching for a homemade brownie recipe that meets or exceeds the boxed version. For me this wasn't it, will continue my quest though.

Raspberry Fudge Brownies

A great way to dress up a standard brownie. Cannot believe that the recipe submitter is only 18 years old. Her culinary skills are way beyond her years!

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
These cookies are to die for! Anytime I bring them to a party they get rave reviews. Have replaced peanut butter chips for chocolate chips which is also a good result.

Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
These are just like grandma's. Very tender and have a wonderful flavor. I like to roll mine about a quarter of an inch thick and use a pizza cutter to cut into 1 inch squares.

Zucchini Bread IV

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
This recipe is good or better than grandma's. The amount of cinnamon and vanilla I think is the key. I tried to make it healthier because of my husband's cholesterol. Here is what worked for me: 1/2 cup applesauce, 1/2 cup oil, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup of wheat flour in place of white. My husband didn't even notice the lighter changes!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
It was amazing you couldn't even taste the zucchini in these brownies. However, I did find them to be raw after baking them for 35 min. I guess it isn't really a problem because they don't have eggs in them. I chose not to bring them to a cookout because they need to be eaten with a fork or they fall apart. Next time will try 1/4 cup more flour and an extra tbsp of cocoa powder. Thanks for an interesting recipe!

Pie Crust IV

This is the perfect pie crust. Turns out great every time! I have exchaged the shortening for ice cold butter and makes it even better.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

These are the perfect holiday cookie. Nice change from fruitcakes and gingerbread men. When I make them, I replace the walnuts with white chocolate chips.

Zucchini Parmigiana

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
This is very refreshing. I didn't coat the zucchini because I was in a bit of a hurry and it still tasted great.

Best-Ever Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
My husband just can't get enough of this salsa. I add about 1/2 tsp of cumin and use basalmic vinegar. Great on a hot summer day.

Creamy Dill Cucumbers

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This was the closest thing I could find to my grandma's cucumber salad. She never added the milk or ranch dressing though. I didn't peel my cucumbers and wish now that I had. Overall, a good recipe.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
These are even better than plain peanut butter cups. (If that is possible.) I froze candy like others suggested and this worked well. These also keep really well in the freezer.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
This is a nice change from a standard cheeseball. Like others, I covered mine with the mini chocolate chips so everyone could tell what flavor it was. If you are having problems with it being too sticky roll in some powder sugar. I like to serve mine with mini chocolate chip cookies or vanilla wafers.

Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
Haven't had banana bread in years, and this was as good as I remembered. I substituted half the white sugar with brown, added 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.. I think if I use this recipe again, I will include an extra banana for more flavor.

No Bake Cookies III

I followed this recipe exactly, and these didn't set up well for me. They tasted great but had to freeze in order to eat them.
