Garlic Chicken And Grapes

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2013
I wasn't able to use the same exact ingredients, but the basic recipe with substitutions worked really well. I didn't have dijon mustard, so I subbed Honey Mustard. I also didn't have green grapes, so I subbed red grapes and both substitutions were delicious. I played around with the baking temp and started out with the 400 degrees, but at the end I broiled it for ~5 minutes, turned the oven off and added the grapes. Let it sit for another 5 minutes and it was all ready.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
These are addicting. I used these for a Cranberry Pear Gingersnap Crumble. It was wonderful! I left my first two batches in the oven a little longer than 10 minutes and when they cooled they were pretty crisp. I took the third batch out right at 10 minutes and they cooled to a nice soft cookie. All 3 batches were so tasty! I did add 1/2 tsp of cloves for a little extra kick.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
This is delicious. The first time I made this, I used 2 parts whole wheat flour and 1 part all purpose flour to make it a little healthier. It was good, but after following the directions and using all purpose for all the flour...there was a big difference. After the cold rise it was double the size. I suppose that whole wheat doesn't work the same? I learned my lesson. These are so light and fluffy and soft! Yum! Came out beautiful. Next time I want to try and roll it with some dark chocolate and also try some others with cinnamon, raisins and pecans.

Baby Spinach Omelet

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
This is a great baseline recipe. I didn't have any Parmesan cheese so I used feta instead. Since I used feta I subbed some garlic powder for the nutmeg and added some tomatoes to the mix. It was delicious! Thanks for such a great recipe to work with.

Portobello Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
This was delicious and easy! I used this sauce on top of homemade Portobello Ravioli! It was AMAZING! My boyfriend took one bite and sounded so surprised! He said the sauce was really good! Thanks for such a quick, easy and tasty sauce! I did end up using 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of half and half instead of 2 cups of heavy cream.

Good for You Greek Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
All I can say is WOW! I thought this would need some dressing added, but it was so fresh and tasty without. I was trying to make something similar to our local grocery store to save money. This is WAY better than the salad there! So fresh and full of flavor. I did follow reviewers and added some peppercini's and did 3 tsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of red wine vinegar.

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
I did make modifications to mine since I don't like blue cheese, so my rating doesn't apply to that part. It's a great base recipe to try different stuffing in the dates. I used feta and slivered almonds and they fit perfectly in the dates. The cooking and the directions worked great. The cheese stayed put and the dates were delicious. I used skewers and put 5-6 dates on one skewer to save toothpicks and the amount of time I had to flip each date. I just had to flip the skewers and it was easy to pop the dates off and put them in a dish. Putting them on a skewer also helped keep the bacon stay put. So tasty! Thanks for sharing!

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2011
This is a great basic recipe that you can make so many modifications to! I substituted brown rice flour for the wheat flour based on some other suggestions. I also substituted plain yogurt instead of milk. I might have to add a tiny bit more yogurt next time as it was just a little dry. But it was still really easy to work with. I rolled my dough into little balls and then flattened them out. I cooked it for about 7-10 minutes. It cooks really fast. These are so great and easy! I think next time I'll try it with carrots instead of peanut butter and also try it with cheese (they love their cheese). Thanks so much for sharing, this is great! A lot cheaper and healthier too!

Jerky Lover's Jerky - Sweet, Hot and Spicy!

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
This was amazing. It's so easy and fast to do. Both my boyfriend and I loved it. I used beefalo sirloin for the meat. I got 2 lbs of it and then doubled the marinade. I pureed a whole pineapple instead of using pineapple juice. I used reduced sodium soy sauce and it turned out great! I'm going to use the leftover pineapple puree for a fruit roll-up. I'm planning to use this for a camping trip! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I made these for thanksgiving. Very easy and almost no prep time. I just peeled, diced and threw the pieces in a gallon baggie with the onion soup mix and the olive oil. I let it sit for a few hours and marinate and then used a foil lined 9x13 casserole dish. I changed the temp to 350 degrees and baked for about 50-60 min (until tender - I used a toothpick to test if it was inserted with low resistance). Everyone loved these! I will definitely make these again. We got a box of sweet potatoes/yams from Costco along with the Lipton onion soup mix and they worked great with this recipe.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

This is a tasty soup. I added chopped tofu, some cayenne pepper and minced garlic (like some other reviewers). The soup is delicious. My boyfriend went back for seconds.
