This is a great recipe. I took the advice of other users and used 1/2 brown sugar (and also reduced the white sugar to about 3/4 cup), used butter instead of shortening and added vanilla. I also had no mayonnaise on hand (my husband hates mayonnaise and won't let me have it in the house!) so used yogurt instead. This turned out so great as mini-loaves! Thanks for the recipe. Gave it 4 stars because of the consistent suggested changes but really with the changes it is truly a 5-star recipe. Much fluffier and lighter than many soggy banana bread recipes.
