Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Awesome recipe! I made it for my parents a while ago as the normal one and I just made a less spicy version for Christmas dinner with my grandparents. All I did was cut down the paprika to about half, only used a sprinkle of chili powder and left out the cayenne completely. They loved it!

Spicy Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Well, this was a hit with my finicky step-dad! I didn't use jalapenos because he doesn't like spicy, but instead cumin and paprika. It was a bit bland for my taste, but perfect for him. I also used spagetti squash and precooked it in the oven for 20 minutes before sauteeing. Was tasty and will probably make again!

Simple Scones

These are excellent! Light, flaky and just delicious. I didn't put raisins in, just left them plain and did an egg, milk and salt wash before baking them. They go delicious with tea!

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Made these for my stepdad for christmas with blackberry jam. He ate two as soon as they came out of the oven! The only problems I had were with the amount. I scaled it so it should've made 24, but the dough did not look like enough, so I then doubled it. It should, therefore, have made 48. It made 17! But they were still good, so it doesn't really matter.

Chocolate Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Made these for my mom for christmas. She also got a set of box chocolates, with the same sort of idea. I was kind of worried but she liked mine so much, she said she'd trade the whole store bought box for just one of mine! I used milk chocolate chips, semisweet baking squares and vegetable oil for the drizzle.

Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Tasty! I made these instead of my normal scones, because I had no sour cream. Also, had to use margarine because I was out of butter. I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract and these came out delicious.
