About this Cook
I love to cook for my family and friends, it just brings me so much joy. During my free time when I am not attending classes or working, I like to hang out with my doggie, Ginger, my boyfriend and friends. I also run a small business with two other close friends,, a spa gift products and soy candles company. Other then this I just like to relax and think of new meals to cook up for everyone around me to enjoy!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking shrimp and fish, there is just so much versatility, I also like making soups and fresh bread, they are especially nice during the cold season and can easily freeze for anytime later on. Lets see, I really like making anything that is a challenge and things that you don't to enjoy everyday, like homemade pies, crusts and pastries
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holidays are the only time that I have family cooking traditions, but my mother and I like to cook in the kitchen together late night on the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, it's a lot of fun. My mother has a famous minastronie soup recipe that she makes and I am going to try to duplicate her, so that is probably the most traditional meal that we have, along with some other here and there ideas.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs are the fresh breads that I make and give out to my friends periodically, everyone loves them. I also use a lot of seasoning and try to omit any unhealthy items if I can, and the meals still turn out just as good.
My cooking tragedies
I havent had any real cooking tragedies, yet (knock on wood). I think the worst thing is a cake that I made for a friends birthday, just turned out awful for some reason, and I never tried the recipe again, I'm just to afraid.

Fresh Herbed Halibut
This was very delicious!!! The whole family enjoyed....I did add a few things to the halibut- lemon pepper and onion powder. This was a very light and fresh dish that I paired with Mushroom Rice Pilaf (also on this website) and roasted brussel sprouts. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Jamie's Minestrone
This was some amazing soup!!!! Thanks for the wonderful recipe....I did add a few extra goodies like: potatoes, frozen peas, cabbage, can of diced tomatoes with juice, extra cup of chix broth and mushrooms. I also simmered for 2hrs and the ending result was soooo good, everyone in the family could not get enough. Tated good with "Braided Egg Bread" recipe also from this site!!!!

I was looking for a simple recipe for pancakes and this one turned out great!!!! Although I used condensed milk instead of regular non-fat milk and they turned out sooooooo goooood, I highly recommend this. Thanks for putting out the tip on using self-rising flour, that is pretty important! Anyway, try it with the condensed milk, it superb!
