Chocolate Spiders

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
We loved these cute spiders! I made them three times this October for ourselves, work, and my son's preschool. I used one bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and one bag of milk chocolate chips, melted, and mixed with one 12 oz bag of chow mien noodles (did it in halves). Then I used the mini M&Ms for eyes. Very cute and easy.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
Turned out perfect. Only thing I did different was use mini M&Ms because I had them left over from the chocolate spiders. Soft and crunchy at the same time, like the others said. *Update* Today I accidentally used butter instead of Crisco, you get so used to butter with cookies you know. The cookies did not come out looking as nice but they were even better than the original recipe, which was very good too. So if you want a messier looking cookie that is gooey and chocolaty, use butter. If you want them to look nicer use shortening.

Butterscotch Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
These were good but there wasn't as much a contrast in the flavors as I had hoped. I was expecting more. They had a good flavor and were nice and soft. But I probably won't make them again.

Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
I listened to what everyone was saying about there being too much vanilla and I cut it back to 1 teaspoon. It was very good then. You do have to be careful when you use this type of icing because it is soft and creamy. Not the most convenient for tons of sugar cookies because of this. I will make it again.

I made these because of the superb rating and comments. They were OK but I probably won't make them again. I just didn't think they were that good.

The flavor was great but the cake was not fluffy or moist. I will try another recipe next time.

Lacking flavor. Would be good as a base, pretty, but needs some more things added.

Veggie Vegetarian Chili

Super tasty. I did find it lacked just a tad bit flavor but once I added salt, pepper, 2 tbsp tomato paste, a bay leaf, another tbsp of chili powder and cooked it for over an hour veryone liked it a lot. I think this recipe will made many more times.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Clouds

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
YUM!! How easy are these? And everyone liked them. I couldn't not find any puff pastry shells last minute so I used mini graham cracker pie shells. They were like little strawberry pies, so pretty. Next time I may add just a hint more suger to the cream.

Perfect Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2013
I have never made anything like this so I was extra cautious, but it turned out great! Sure, it did cook an hour but I really wanted it to wor out. I think I can cook it quicker next time. I creamed the butter and sugar together first, as others had said, then added the eggs one by one. Next I added the lemon ingrediants, cooked it low, and stirred it constantly. Very impressed with myself!

Very good, very easy. I didn't have the onion powder or celery salt and we all still enjoyed it. Will make this often.

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
My son loves cheesecake so I wanted to make him one to celebrate his First Communion and decided to go with this recipe. For a first cheesecake, and there being only 2 of us (one easily pleased), it served its purpose. However, the next time I bake this I will make some modifications. I can't imagine baking this as the recipe recommends, it would not cook through. I don't think 10 minutes at higher temp would do the trick. I did the 200 degree 3.1 hr alteration. I ended up cooking it for 3.5 hrs actually, then got paranoid, pulled it out (still very giggly), let sit and then refrigerated overnight. Still not done enough in the middle. It held up, but the middle weirded me out. I am cutting around it. Maybe it's my oven, I could touch the racks with my hands. Next time I am thinking I will cook it at 225 for 3.1 hrs and I will adjust for that giggliness. But it was my first time, I had no idea what to expect. My son was really happy though, he did not notice!

Easy and delicous! I don't like nuts so I left those out. I added the jam halfway through. I also dusted them with powdered sugar. I will make them again.

Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies

I really liked these. I only reduced the salt by a little and made them into smaller cookies (10 min at 350). They are very rich and I will make them regularly.

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
I received a bunch of homemade apple pie filling as a gift and had to use it up. I made this recipe only I incorporated Jen Marshall's alterations and had to bake it nearly double the length of time in order for it to get bubbly and the topping to saturate. But then it turned out pretty good. I will make it again like this.
