Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This was very good... I was looking for an easy to prepare butternut squash soup and this fit the bill. It does help to roast the squash first, makes the skin come off much easier... I followed the advice of using chicken stock and half the cream cheese and it was wonderful... I used my emusion blender to puree and this was ready in no time at all...

Chocolate Peanut Butter Wacky Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I loved how the cake part turned out... I confess I used a different frosting which was just okay... but the cake part of this was outstanding... super moist... and NO EGGS - that was the great part... These would do well as cupcakes also...

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
These were really easy and much better tasting than the recipe my MIL has in her family cookbook... I like my brownies to be chocolately and these were perfect... Next time, I'll try them with a better chocolate, I only had Baker's chocolate but I think a better brand of chocolate would only make them better...

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I'm giving this five stars for taste and ease of preparation. My mom used to make monkey bread but her recipe didn't call for the butterscotch pudding mix. Changes I made: I didn't have a bundt pan or a tube pan so I used my glass deep dish pie pan. I only had one can of biscuits and no pecans. I melted the putter in the pie dish and dropped the biscuit pieces in. Sprinkled half the sugar mixture over the top, turned the pieces over and sprinkled the rest over that. Baked for about 18 minutes. This was great.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
this was great... used beef broth instead of the water and dumped in a jar of banana peppers for the last hour of cooking (after shredding the beef)...

Skillet Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
When I was a kid, my mom used to make these but she rolled them into the shape of a strawberry and you used to be able to buy these plastic green stems to put in them. I knew what a few of the ingredients were but she has since lost the recipe. I am so glad to have found it here. Great holiday cookie! Friends and family were really surprised by this one.

Shrimp Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I prepared this recipe pretty much as is and thought it had a wonderful taste. I used larger shrimp and had to cut them up. I chose the recipe for its' simplicity, very few ingredients, all of which I happened to have on hand. Hubby suggested next time to add some roasted red peppers.
