Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
This was a nice change for a quick chicken dish. I gave it four stars since I also did the changes others noted which was 1/2 cup ketchup, soysauce and garlic instead of onion. It tasted quite sweet and the mustard gave it the tangy flavour. Would try again

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This is a keeper. After reading others I also do not have a bread machine so I threw the dry ingredients together with 2.5tsp instant yeast. Warmed the water, milk, butter then added the tempered egg. Mixed the dry into wet cup at a time. Also needed to add about half cup extra flour while kneading. I made round rolls which did not last the night since all was gone. Have made this twice already and intend to try as cinnamon rolls when I have the time.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
A really great recipe. I used instant yeast since it was all I had so I skipped the proofing stage and mixed all the dry ingredients together and then added the warm water and oil. Had no loaf pans so made dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls which came out really terrific. It's to simple not to repeat often. This website is making cooking more a hobby than a chore. Thanks allrecipes.

Spanish Flan

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
My Aunt used to make this when she visited its a huge favourite. The only difference with this recipe is that she uses 5 eggs and steams on top of the stove. I tried this and it came out lovely. Warming the pan before you put in the caramel was very helpfull as well as swirling the sugar every now and then by lifting a little off the burner while holding the handle (no spoon) while it melted on low flame. Also I just filled the condense tin with skimmed milk after I poured out the condensed milk. After coating with the caramel and filling with the custard I placed the filled tin which had a lid inside a pot with water half way up the tin and covered tightly with pot cover.(You can use foil to tighten the cover if slack just around the rim) This was on a medium to low flame for one hour then take off to cool somewhat. Cover the tin with a pie plate and turn upsided down and there you have a great desert.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I really found this was good since no eggs/milk for a vegan. I used a vegetable soup mix for the chicken stock did not taste the mayo at all will leave out next time. It was well received however I think it needs some more flavor so will make again and adjust the seasonings.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
This was a good cake I make this for a friend of mine. Just put all ingredients into the mixing bowl mixed low 30sec and high 3min. Super easy truly one bowl. Was done in 25min when I checked maybe my oven. Used super easy icing 3tbl butter/3tbl cocoa/1cup icing sugar/1tbl milk or as needed and 1/2 tsp vanilla essence. Mix all together and frost cake. You can add more icing sugar if prefer sweeter. This makes 1 cup. cake.
