Since I discovered this web site I have used choppers, blenders, multiple chopping boards and have used my blender a whole lot more.  I have had friends over and cooked more than one entree for dinner.  I have been cooking and chatting with my friends at the same time.  I feel… MORE

I am a 49 year old mother of a 23 year old daughter, a 28 year old daughter and a grandmother to a 3 year old grandson, a 6 year old grandson and a 4 year old granddaughter. Good thing I have a lot of energy.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking pies. I love Barbecuing and making new sauces and marinades.I have recently taken up baking cheese cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daughter loves for me to make her my fried chicken, tacos, lasagna, and something we call sloppy tortillas, (My dad made up this recipe)
My cooking triumphs
I would love to be able to make cobbler, and not be intimidated by any recipe. I love entertaining and cooking for my friends.
My cooking tragedies
I followed a recipe for baby back ribs. The ribs were burned and dry, and we had to force them down. Lol. I just changed the recipe. (Not so long in the oven before barbecuing).

Baked Apricot Chicken
I went to get the ingredients for this recipe at the store, and when I got home I realized that I had forgotten the onion soup mix. OOps. So, instead, I used crushed red peppers just to give a little heat. NOT A LOT. It was really good. I would cook the chicken for an hour and a half to get the chicken more tender. I will cook it again with the onion soup mix next time and see how that goes. LOL

Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie
This is a really easy recipe. It is cooking right now, and smells wonderful. I am giving it to my mother, but I am definitely going to make another one for my family at home tomorrow. If I don't they will probably kill me.
