Organic Rice Vermicelli--Doesn't Seem To Exist!

We are big fans of the Vietnamese soup Pho and are going to attempt to make it at home.  But out of concerns for GMO Rice Noodles, I thought I'd do some research to see if this is an issue or not.

I like to shop at a local Vietnamese Market and they have a great selection on this style of rice noodles.  The ones I like to buy are often made in Thailand.  The burning question:

Do they use GMO rice when they make these noodles?  This question remains to be answered, but as far as I can tell, Thailand does not seem to keen on GMO.  That is a good sign.

Another question, do organic rice vermicelli noodles exist?  It seems the answer is yes, but I only found one place that is selling in the USA, and they are in Canada, and all at $7 a pound.  Yikes!<

There's got to be a better solution out there!

Maybe I will try making my own?  But what a hassle!

I found this interesting youtube video of a woman making a Vietnamese style rice noodle with a potato ricer.  Very interesting.  That looks like a cheap and easy solution.

More later....the search continues.

I would be equally concerned about the possibility of high arsenic levels in the rice noodles.
