Liz is a Sales Manager and Tom is a Professional Chef in Philadelphia. We share a love of food and would rather cook at home than eat out most of the time. Our city has a diverse, ethnic, population making unusual, specialty ingredients especially easy to find. We love allrecipes.com because it gives us new ideas and the people are so nice with their feedback.
My favorite things to cook
This is a tough question. We really LIKE everything. At the moment, we are exploring downhome, old fashioned, recipes, biscuits with red-eye gravy, stuffed eggplant, pumpkin cookies. We also have an interest in exploring chinese cooking techniques and like to be creative without a recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a great cook. Tom is professionally trained at the Restaurant School of Philadelphia. We like to make meals and cooking part of our family celebrations.
My cooking triumphs
Standing Rib Roast, Yorkshire Pudding, with all the fixings.
My cooking tragedies
Tom believes you learn from your failures; tragedy and success are intertwined. Liz says Tom can be heavy-handed with the salt, once in a while, and remembers her potato salad, at Easter, that had the consistency of mashed potatoes.
