Asparagus, Feta and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
The list of ingredients was mouth watering but once I built this dish the flavor was just OK. I think the balsamic vinegar had something to do with it. I will play around with this one before I serve it to friends

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
Outstanding flavor! One of my family's favorite pizzas, I too use less blue cheese dressing and another substitution is canned chicken! Just drain, rinse and flake the chicken. It's so much easier than traditional chicken breast and I think just at tasty.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
Absolutely the best potatoe soup I'v ever had, and I'm not a big mushroom fan. Outsid of adding sour cream which was suggested by other reviewers I wouldn't change a thing. I searved my with fresh made italian bread. A hearty meal which doesn't need any fluff to go with it. The dill makes this dish absolutely amazing!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
This is a tasty dish but I've prepared slow cooker chicken many times and this one is just average compared to other similar meals. The soy sauce and sesame oil is really unnecessary and skinning the chicken, a whole chicken mind you is just a ridiculous idea. I will stick to my other recipes in the future.

Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I'm not very impressed at all with this recipe. I served it at a holiday gathering and although it seemed well recieved, I found it to be too mushy even though I toasted the bread first. Flavor was just OK. I won't be making this one again.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Excellent pasta dish! The sour cream gives it a smooth finished flavor. Very easy to assemble and economical as well. I'll be making this one again and again.

Red Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
WOW is this dish yummy! If you love onions you will love this. The prep work does take time especially if you do not use a food processor. I will add a few less red onions next time and increase the amount of dressing just a tad. I actually thought this was delicious right after I assembeled it! It is a very hearty salad and as the other reviewers noted can be a meal in itself. I might add some chopped tart apple next time since this combination could handle that taste very well. I highly recommend this to everyone that loves all the ingredients independently. This dish is a WINNER!

Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Excellent however I found this to be a little too sweet when made as written. I will definately reduce the sugar next time. Additionally I will use less butterscotch chips. I too baked this about 20 minutes longer than the recipe called for as I don't like a "wet" consistency to my bread pudding. I will certainly make this again. My husband loved it!

Coconut-Cornflake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Couldn't be easier! You get the crunchy and chewy in one very delicious cookie. Like the other reviewers, I reduced the sugar and the morsels were plently sweet. Ill definately be making these again, my family loved them!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Absolutely the best bread ever out of a machine. I will never buy the box mixes again. I used regular packaged yeast and increased the salt by 1/2 tsp as recommended by another contributor. This one will stay at the top of my recipe box

This was good but way to "rosemaryie" for me. If I try this again I will go easy on the spices

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I just made this today and it is fab!!! I took the suggestions of other reviewers and added some minced carrot, onion and celery by cooking briefly in olive oil. I did not get the fast cook wild rice so I increased the water by about 1 1/2 cups and let it simmer for 25 minutes unstead of stand off the heat. I used one cup of heavy cream and one cup of half and half. Additionally I only needed one quarter cup of the flour mixture. The soup came out beautifully (eye appealing) and so full of flavor. I have my bread maching going now and can't wait to serve this delightful meal to my family. Try this, you won't be sorry.

Coconut-Raisin Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I tried this once and didn't have much luck with it. The custard is hardly substantial enough to hold the rice and coconut together. The flavor was fine but I prefer the presentation to be every bit as outstanding as the taste. I'll move on to another rice pudding recipe perhaps with better results.

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
I used reduced fat baking mix. These were ok but I'm sure will be much better with the non reduced fat type. These are quick and produce an amazing aroma in my kitchen. Thank you for a great quick bread idea.

Tater Tot Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
I took this to a neighborhood gathering and let me tell you, it was the only thing that completely disappeared! More of a comfort food than healthy dish, this one really delivers when it comes to flavor. I made the recipe as written and will continue to serve this one time and time again.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as written and have to agree with the others that it needs more moisture, more seasonings and more cheese. Next time I will either up the soup or add milk, additionally will put 2 cups of cheese in the casserole add salt and pepper. I think sticking with the potatoe chips is what actually saved this dish. The additional salt and crunch was welcome in this somewhat bland dish. I will make again however because it is easy and quick with the above mentioned alterations.

Chicken Salad Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I assembled this as written and it as very good however I added a few touches of my own and it was fantastic! Before adding the mayo, I tossed the "shredded" chicken with 2 TBS of Italian dressing. After adding the mayo I threw in a handful of toasted almond slivers and "ta-dah" the flavor could not be matched. I will make often and perhaps add some sliced grapes when I have some available. Thanks for the post.

Chicken Paprikash

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
This was an exceptional recipe, the sauce was creamy and flavorful. I had trouble with the dumplings being too tough so next time I will modify and make with homemade noodles. I used chicken tenders since thats what I had on hand and only wish I had added more. Will definately make again.

Cherry Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
OK this is a very sweet dessert, but delightful none the less. I did add a few ingredients as this to me was more of a "starter recipe" for all the wonderful variations you can think of. I added one package of philly cream cheese softened, a handful of mini marshmallows, and a handful of "toasted" walnuts. I was contemplating adding pineapple tidbits as another suggested but I think for now I'll leave it alone. I will make this again. Oh, don't forget about mandarin oranges as another alternative.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
An excellent dish! I read all the reviews and tweaked this one to perfection. You must use the leanest ground beef available. To decrease the salty flavor I first sprayed my roaster/crockpot with PAM then covered the bottom with thin potatoe slices. I used lower sodium cream of mushroom 1 can and cream of chicken 1 can in the sauce mixture. When blending the ground beef with the dry ingredients you need to use your hands and "over blend" until the mixture no longer looks like ground beef but beef "paste". The rest of the recipe was as written and it could not have been more delicious. This one is definitely going into my rotation. Thank you so much for this post.
