Congo Squares
This has been a family recipe for years. My Nana used to make them and they were Pepere's favorite desert. The recipe got passed down to my mom and she passed it down to me. It is a family favorite and I am not allowed to go to any holiday event without bringing a pan of these. I think they remind my siblings and cousins of holidays with our grandparents. I know they remind me of my mother. The only differences in our recipe is we always use margarine. I've tried using butter and the consistency is off every time. The other thing missing is 1-2tsp of vanilla and I use probably double the amount of chocolate chips. I'm only going to give the recipe 3 stars as is... but the way my family makes them they are 5 stars!

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie
made this last night for thanksgiving dinner today... i intended to only change the semisweet chips to milk chocolate... i used ghirdelli milk chocolate chips and added 1 oz of semi sweet chocolate chips... however while i was preparing it i was not focused and was doing a bunch of things at once and realized that something went wrong when the consistency was like soup... i know it was something i did wrong... did not whip the cream enough probably... so to fix it i added a box of chocolate pudding... added it to my premade cookie crust and hoped for the best... we had a small family dinner... just four of us... three adults and a child... my father didn't eat much and didn't want any desert... but between myself, my husband and my son we finished off half of this pie already... it was amazing... i can't say if it would have been better or worse without my mishap and need to add the pudding mix to thicken it up... but regardless... it was pie heaven!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
This is fantastic! Like others, as it was cooking i wasn't so sure... I only made a few adjustments and it was amazing... 1st i used bone in, skin on thighs because they were what i had on hand... 2nd i did not brown the meat... i also cut back the soy sauce to 1/2 cup... set the crock on high and cooked for 3.5 hrs... came out almost perfect... i think if i could have cut out that last 1/2 hr it would have been perfect... also did not add the pineapple chunks to the mix but put it on the side along with white rice and dribbled the sauce over everything... my 6year old son and husband devoured it
