I want to make these, but not sure if I should use salted or unsalted butter. Can someone help? Thanks!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This is the first time that I have tried to make burritos at home. My family loved them. It reminded me of the burrito at our favorite mexican restaurant. I made the recipe exactly as written and it was perfect. I may try with chicken next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Uglies

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I would have given it 4 stars, but the rest of the family didn't care for them. There was enough meat mixture to make double the amount. I would either decrease the ground beef to 1/2 lb. or use 2 packages of biscuit dough. If I try this recipe again, I will try using chicken.

I loved this recipe. I kept everything the same except only used 2 Tbsp. of butter, like some others. It was delicious!

Beef Taco Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I personally would have given this recipe 4 stars, but since the whole family ate it, it gets 5 stars in my house. The only difference, is that I added a packet of taco seasoning (as others suggested).

Make Ahead Manicotti

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I like the idea of preparing it the night before and throwing it in the oven. I gave it 4 stars b/c it was too sweet. I will try it again, but reduce the amount of sugar at least by half.

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
This was awesome. I used 3 chicken breasts, one green pepper and half of an onion. I omitted the bacon b/c didn't have. It made 7 quesadillas, but probably could have made 8. I didn't make the chicken in the broiler. I diced the chicken and cooked in a skillet. Will be adding to the regular menu. Thank you for the great recipe!!

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I am not a big fan of tuna fish (it's actually the closest thing to seafood that I'll eat), but since it got such great reviews, I thought that I would try it. I loved it! I used whole wheat bread, since I don't like rye, and didn't use tomato. I thought that the swiss cheese might over power the sandwich, but it didn't, and actually added a really good flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Italian Subs - Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
Couldn't find capacola, so used regular ham instead. The onions seemed a little strong to me. Overall, a pretty good sub.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
Good recipe. I followed the recipe, except didn't include the lemon zest. I thought it might be too lemony. I also threw some parmesan cheese on top before serving. The lemon gave a good, but not overpowering flavor. All of the family enjoyed (even my picky 3 yr. old asked for seconds). Now that deserves 5 stars in my house!

Cincinnati Chili I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
My husband and I both grew up in Cincinnati and loved this chili. It is very similar to Skyline. I boiled the ground beef in beef broth, but still couldn't get the consistency of traditional Skyline, but didn't effect the taste. We can buy frozen skyline here in Ga., but since this recipe fed a family of 4 for 3 meals, it is more cost effective to make it instead of buying the frozen stuff. Of course, nothing beats going to Skyline and having the real stuff. P.S.-Kroger brand oyster crackers taste just like the crackers at Skyline restaurants...adds a finishing touch on a great meal. Thanks for the recipe.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This was very good. I cut the chicken up, hoping that it would only take 30min. to cook, but it still needed an extra 15min. The only other change was adding some mont.jack cheese (shredded)along with the swiss (also shredded). The cheese gave it a great flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Nancy's Chicken in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This was very good. The whole family liked it, which is saying a lot. The only changes I made (after reading reviews) was cutting the chiken up and cooking it in a skillet, and using cresent rolls. I was afraid that the chicken wouldn't get done in the oven. I couldn't find the pastry, so I used cresent rolls like some other reviewers. I cut up 3 chicken breasts, but had a lot of chicken left over. I put 2 cresents together to make a rectangle, spread the cream cheese on the cresents, then added some chicken on one half of the cresent, folded over the other half and pressed the ends together. One can of cresent rolls made 4 chicken puffs. This was enough for our family b/c we are trying to watch our portion sizes. Will add this to our dinner menu.
