About this Cook
I have 2 kids, a husband, and lots of other family and friends around to try my cooking out so I know if it is a keeper or not!
My favorite things to cook
It isn't Thanksgiving without the smell of roasting Turky in the house all day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We pass down recipes in a 4 x 6 card file. I have some written by my grandmother and great grandmother. I might not use them all but they are interesting to read. :) Our family also has cinnamon rolls for breakfast for EVERY holiday!
My cooking triumphs
I think I have a great set of recipes and are aked to bring my special dishes to many events. I want more of those special dishes as well as more quick and easy recipes for the family when I am to tired to cook dinner in the evenings.
My cooking tragedies
My biggest cooking problems come when I don't set the timer. I have alot going on and am easily destracted when I see something else that needs done. I am famous for forgetting about what is on the stove.

This was my first time making croissants and I was very pleased with how they turned out. I needed to add a little more flour while kneeding to keep them from being too sticky. Also, since they are very time consuming to make, I had to leave them in the refrigerator over night on the second two hour rise. This worked out better so that I could finish them off before breakfast and they were still warm from the oven. My children helped roll them and loved them even more since they got to help.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
I thought that this was a great recipe and easy to make. The chicken fell apart as I stirred. I only used half of a large onion and I thought it was still a little too much. The onion does cook off and add tons of flavor though.
