Toffee Caramel Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
I like the caramel and chocolate part of this dessert but do not like the bottom layer. It was too thick for my taste and did not have much flavor. Would make again but with a different crust.

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I liked that the cookies were crispy on the outside, chewy in the inside but these had a more cake-like texture and I like my cookies to be more dense. They were quick and easy to make but I think I will stick with my old chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Banana Chip Muffins II

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I modified this recipe slightly. I used the whole egg, used half white sugar, half brown sugar, and mini chocolate chips because I didn't have the normal ones. I liked how these turned out but they are not the best muffins I have ever had. They were a little rubbery but I would still make them again. Next time I might try just using the whites but I didn't want to waste the yolks. I also would not recommend using mini chocolate chips. I definitely like it better with normal sized chips. Overall a good recipe but falls short of great.

Caramel Nougat Cake IV

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This cake was a hit with my family. It was nice and moist and the frosting was the best part. I had the fun size milky way bars not the normal size bars and 14 of the fun size bars are equal to 8 of the normal bars the recipe calls for.

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I used only 8 oz of pasta but still used one whole can of the soup but cut the other ingredients in half. It turned out good, but not great. I think this is a good recipe to start off from and modify to one's liking. I added some bread crumbs on top like others had suggested. I didn't have Italian bread crumbs so I flavored plain bread crumbs with some oregano, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper. It really added to the dish and I loved the slight heat from the crushed red pepper.

Tunnel of Fudge Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
The tunnel of pudding is really good and I had no problem getting it to not touch the sides. However the cake itself is on the dry side. Everyone around the table ate it, but only a few said they would eat it again. My sister ate the leftovers by just eating the pudding layer! Oh and I just sprayed the pan with PAM and skipped the flour part and had no problems with it sticking to the pan. If I made this again I think I will try a different recipe to make the cake, but I would definitely keep the pudding part the same.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
We made this for Christmas dinner and everyone LOVED it. Even one boy who said he hates Prime Rib went back for seconds. We changed it up a little bit. We added some thyme, garlic, and rosemary and rubbed that on the prime rib before we coated it with the salt. It was so moist and juicy and delicious. Will be making this again!

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Very good. I needed to make miniature bread bowls and tried two different ways. I tried putting a small amount into muffin tins and I tried just rolling the balls and placing them on a baking sheet. The ones on the baking sheet turned out better, but both methods worked. I made about 24 mini bread bowls with this recipe. Very delicious and everyone loved them. For homemade bread it was that hard to make either!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
They look very cute and were a hit, but they don't taste all that great. I don't think they are worth the work.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This recipe was delicious, but not quite what I was looking for. I have been looking for a restaurant style arrabiata dish, and this one is as close as I have gotten so far though.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
Delicious! I followed some reviewers' suggestions. I cut down on the sugar. I wish I had cut down on the cornstarch for the sauce because it was a little thicker than I would have liked. I also served the sauce on the side to keep the chicken crispy. Raves all around the table and no leftovers.

Biggest Bestest Burger

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Decided to try something new to season my burgers and now I am never going back to the onion soup mix. This was honestly the best burger I have had. One warning however. I mixed the ingredients together and then let it sit until we were ready to grill and some of the burgers at the bottom of the bowl turned out a little too teryaki, so make sure you mix it well and make them into burgers right away. Super moist and just the right about of flavor. Yum!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Not too good in my book. But other people liked the frosting so I bumped the rating up to a three. Tasted more like whipped cream than cream cheese frosting.

I made these for a dog themed party and it was the first thing gone. Everyone raved about them and they really were easy to make.

Buffalo Chicken Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I was a little skeptical of this recipe having only two ingredients, but it really tasted like restaurant style buffalo sauce. The entire family loved it.
