Royal Icing III

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
I forgot to beat the eggs and just mixed them together. I whipped it extra long then it was just fine. We made candy train with it and it turned out perfect! I didn't have any problem with the icing at all. My husband was concerned it uses the raw eggs though.

New York Italian Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
This was great. When I made it the night before to have it for lunch, the crust was puffy and crispy- looked very good! I believe it is better to rest it overnight or 8hrs because when I only rest it for 4hrs, the result was not the same. They were still good but not as puffy and crispy. I'll plan better and make them for dinner! Yum

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
It was very fun and easy to make this bread. My boys age 7 and 4 and their 5yrs old friend made it together. We had so much fun!! We even had a ruler and measured the rope to 3 feet! Fun learning experience. Actually I might not make the rope as long next time as I like it thicker. I didn't have a parchment paper so I used wax paper to let it rest. Mistake!!! The wax paper didn't come off well at all after being baked. So I took the unbaked pretzels off of wax paper and put them on the greased cookie sheet. It baked fine but had rougher finish! We put butter on all then brown sugar and sugar on some, garlic salt on some, parmesan cheese on some, and kosher salt on some. They were all delicious. Thank you!

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2004
Great recipe! As previously said, I reduced the amount of oil to 3 TBS. I also used lime juice instead of lemon juice since we were out of it. I also put sliced onion on the bottom and baked it. Yummy!! The salmon was very soft and moist. My friend and I really raved about it! However, my husband and my 7yrs old son prefers salt broiled salmon and didn't care too much for this. I would make it again though-just for me!

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
I made it with 4 eggs and about 3/4 cups brown sugar as suggested. No need for syrup and it was delicious! It is easy to put together so I'll make it for Christmas morning for sure now. I didn't have half and half but I had heavy whipping cream so I used a cup of that and half a cup of milk. I also used normal bread slices. I ended up using 8 slices. Two of them were cut into smaller pieces and squeezed into every possible area in the pan! It turned out well. I did skip the orange liquor but next time I'll be sure to put orange extract to make it taste more like my favorite dessert as others have suggested. Thank you so much for this recipe:).

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
This is a keeper. I've been looking for a pancake recipe that makes it fluffy and juicy. This is it. I double the recipe so it is enough for my family:)

Chinky's Mango Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
Like someone has mentioned previously, if you are looking for the unique mango flavor bread, add something to the recipe. I personally didn't really care for the flavor. Next time, I will put cranberry instead of raisins and omit cinnamon. The bread was very moist, however, I didn't check it until the timer went off after 60 min. and it was burnt on the bottom a little. My husband said it tasted okay but had too much baking soda taste.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2004
I just made and ate a piece of the pie. It was somewhat disappointing to me because the flour mixed with blackberry took over the natural blackberry taste. I regreted using all the good fresh berries I had for the pie. I would use less flour next time and more sugar for inside.

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2004
I guess I should have read the review and added butter and honey. I liked it okay but my husband said it was too dry and made him thirsty. I will try adding more butter and honey next time after I try other recipes.
