Coconut Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Very, very good. The family loved it. If only I could find Coco Lopez for cheap! One star knocked off because the coconut ice cream served at the Thai restaurant in my neighborhood still has the edge, if only slightly!

Red Velvet Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Yes, I have some guilt saying I made a red velvet cake when a cake mix was involved, but my wife loved it. Red velvet has been her favorite her whole life. When she tried the first bite, she did a little dance. That, my friends, equals five stars in my book.

Irish Cream Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I never knew creme brulee was so easy. Separating the eggs is the most time consuming part! I have served this many times and it is always loved. Depending upon the audience I will fore go the alcohol and increase the vanilla.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Very yummy and easy. The wife and kids (plus their friends) ate them up quick! I tried to add the crumbs with five minutes left but was too late. Next time I will either add them five minutes in, or at the beginning. I wish I had bananas at home right now!

German Pancakes II

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Very good. I cooked it as is with no expectations of what a German pancake is. It was similar to french toast, but not "too eggy" or "thick" as some others described. It did raise a good 2-3 inches above the edges of the baking dish. Looked funny, but did not impact taste. Some children ate it with syrup, others with lemon juice and cinnamon sugar.
