Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: May 8, 2014
I just made these for the first time and they are delicious!! I made 6 large bagels. I added raisins and cinnamon to half and cheese to the other 3. They were easy to make and taste amazing! I will definitely be making these on a regular basis now. I can't wait to try them with cinnamon chips now.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
These pancakes are awesome!! My husband never likes it when I make pancakes for breakfast but after eating these this morning he said he'd give them six stars. I love pancakes so I'm glad I finally found a recipe everyone likes. This recipe does make a lot of pancakes, but I like to have some leftover to freeze for the kids so it's perfect for us.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I loved this recipe! The sauce has a wonderful flavor. I used whole milk in place of the cream and added a bit of minced garlic. I also coated the chicken with italian flavored bread crumbs. I will definitely make this again!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
This was a very good way to use up a rump roast I had in the freezer. The beef had very good flavor. I melted mozarella cheese on the sandwiches under the broiler. Very good!

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
This was a nice change from the typical baked potato. I used 1T butter and 1T olive oil and sprinkled with garlic salt and onion salt in place of the regular salt.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
I made the recipe as it's stated except that after I browned the meat and cooked the carrots and onion a bit, I put everything in the slow cooker and let it cook on high for 5 hours. I added a few tablespoons of cornstarch near the end to thicken the gravy up a bit. The flavor of this was very good!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I thought this was okay. My husband and I both agreed, though, that it isn't as good as my grandma's recipe.

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I used 2C of sugar as other reviews suggested. I actually thought it could use a little more sugar so I will try 3C instead next time. Very easy recipe to follow with good results.

Baked Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I used rosemary instead of oregano. They were okay, but nothing special.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Oh my gosh, these are SO good! I just pulled them out of the oven and I can't stop eating them!! Hopefully there will still be some left when they cool so I can try the frosting. I altered a bit based on other reviews. I only used 3 eggs, I put in 1C white sugar, 1/2C brown sugar, used only 1t baking powder, and I used 1t cinnamon and 1t pumpkin pie spice. I will definitely be making these again very soon!!

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
I used cream of mushroom soup and added fresh mushrooms to it because my family really likes them. Towards the end of cooking I added some flour to the gravy to thicken it up and I served over noodles. This was very good - it has a definite fettucine flavor to it!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
These were the first rolls I've ever made from scratch that turned out! They were very good - slightly sweet and fluffy. I rolled the dough into 12 balls and put them in a glass 13x9 pan. They all ended up baking together so I had to cut squares out for rolls. Next time I will bake in two pans so they remain in balls, but either way the flavor was great!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
These were very easy to make and tasted delicious! My only complaint with them was that the bottom layer was very crumbly and the chocolate layer on top came off as soon as I cut them. Not sure what I did wrong as I followed the recipe exactly. I guess I will have to make them again to see if I can get it right :)

Dry Rub for Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
I made this rub for ribs today. The only change I made was to substitute onion salt for the regular salt (and only used about 1/2 as much as was called for). I let the ribs marinate for 5 hours then baked in foil with a little BBQ sauce at 300 for 2 hours. Then I grilled them for 15 minutes with more BBQ sauce. My husband and I both loved the flavor this rub added to the meat!! Great, easy way to make ribs.

Peanut Butter Cup Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
These were okay. I did as others suggested and followed the directions on the box of brownies. I put the peanut butter cup in the brownies and baked for about 18 minutes. I think the type of brownie mix I used wasn't that good. I would try again with a different kind of brownie.

Brownie Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
This frosting is wonderful! I put one batch of this frosting on a double batch of the "best brownies" recipe found on this site. While the brownies are very good, this frosting puts them over the top.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
These are wonderful brownies! I made a double batch and baked in a 9x13 pan for 25 minutes. I used 1/2C butter and 1/2C applesauce. I also substituted half of the eggs with egg beaters and they were still so good!! I frosted the brownies with one batch of the "brownie frosting" recipe off this site. These are definitely better than the box mixes.
