Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Fantastic, quick dinner. The whole family loved it, including my picky 8 yr old and pickier husband. I even used italian chicken sausage and whole wheat pasta and they STILL loved it. Crazy. I used grape tomatoes that I roasted in the toaster oven for a few minutes until they popped, fresh spinach, and added a 1/4 c of sun dried tomatoes (the dry ones, not in oil). Fantastic dinner!!! Thanks!

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
Wonderful, easy biscuits. Added a little garlic and fresh parm cheese; otherwise exactly as written WITH cream of tarter. It was a little soupy but I let it sit for a few minutes and it sort of filled in and rose. I gently scooped it out onto the pan. They were a little flat (probably user error) but were delicious; a slight crisp on the outside but fluffy and moist on the inside. No butter needed at the table. Kids and husband loved them!!

Beer Braised Irish Stew and Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
DELICIOUS!! Made it exactly as written except for 1 bay leaf instead of 2 (ran out). SOOOO good. Flavorful, tender meat and carrots with "gravy" that was flavorful but not over powering of any one flavor. As good as the stew was, the potatoes are what set it apart and made this such an amazing dish. The only change would be to add more fresh parsley because it gives it such a unique taste (although this isn't necessary). Made this for St. Patricks Day but loved it so much it will be made again before next year. Thanks for the easy, restaurant quality meal!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
YUMMMMOOO as is. Recipe made 2 loaves and 11 muffins :) I did add 1/2 cup of golden raisins plus 1/8 cup of chopped pecans to one loaf. That one was even better than the others. The raisins gave it such a moist texture and sweetness. I sought this recipe out to help out with my husband's addiction to Starbucks pumpkin loaf. He said this was just as good and all three kids loved it!!! Thanks for the keeper.

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
Soooo good. Made them the first time with regular cornmeal and flour and added a bit of baking powder. Perfect. Made them as the recipe says the second. Both times, amazing. Very moist inside but crispy on the outside. We made these after frying some fish (in the same oil) and they were the BEST. Honestly better than any I've had elsewhere.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
BEST EVER!!!!! Better than any mix, any brownie you buy at a bakery, coffee shop, etc. I did use 1/2 c low fat vanilla yogurt and 1/2 c butter (instead of 1 c butter) AND I used a pinch of Baking Soda to add a crisp top. Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!

Classic Stuffed Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Very good...husband says it was the best stuffing he's ever had. I did not stuff a bird, I just wanted a good baked stuffing for a side dish. I did not have sage so I added additional poultry seasoning. I also love celery so I used 5 ribs w/ leaves. It was so good!

Italian Bread Wedges

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
This bread was amazing. So easy, quick and the kids loved it. I didn't have the italian salad dressing so I used the spray type of Caesar dressing...so good. I served it with creamy tomato soup (rachel ray) for a meal that the whole family (ages 4-11) loved!
