I live in Ford City, Alabama. It is a small rural community of gracious, caring folks, about 12 miles out of Muscle Shoals. It is still (and I wish I thought it always would by) basically a farming area. We raise a few farm animals, horses, dogs, cats and whatever the kids drag home. The kids are grandchildren, two of the eight live with us. We like Southern cooking best with a few trips to fast food establishments thrown in. We do eat game meat and a few of the farm animals were raised for that purpose. Sweaters doesn't have to worry. He is our favorite goat and will most likely die of old age.
My favorite things to cook
Sweets of course! Love to make and decorate cakes and cookies and all kinds of candies. However, it is not a chore to cook for the whole kit and kaboodle of family and friends at the holidays or just whenever we can all get together.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like old recipes that have been passed down. Some have been improved but most were great as they were.
My cooking triumphs
Making bread was not easy to master and sometimes I still mess up.
My cooking tragedies
The cake didn't like the icing I tried to pt on it and it ended up looking like a science project gone wrong. I learned. This doesn't happen often anymore.
I don't like people who leave out an ingredient when sharing a recipe so their's will always be better than anyone elses!
