About this Cook
My name is Lynn. I am 26. I have 5 kids and a husband! I love to cook! I am starting at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in the Le Courdon Bleu Program in February. I am super ooberly excited. I also like to make up my own words. LOL! I love to sing and attend a karaoke bar every weekend.
My favorite things to cook
Anything! Mexican food is my favorite. I've had to tone things down with kids and my husband does not like spicy foods either. I love cakes and cookies. I'm not that good of a baker however.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have any cooking traditions although it sounds fun so maybe I'm just the person to start one!!!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was making a pie crust. It was super messy but it was fun and it came out really good!
My cooking tragedies
The worst had to be when I tried to make gravy for the first time. It was too clumpy, then too runny and I just could not get it right! Now I can make a decent gravy!

Garden Pasta Salad
I DOUBLED this recipe and only used 2 bottles of dressing and I think THAT was a bit too much. Also, I forgot the carrots so it did not have that crunch. I did not add celery as the whole family hates the stuff(LOL) but added extra cucumber. Other than the too much dressing part, the flavor was AWESOME and I will use this recipe again.

Stabilized Whipped Cream Icing
This recipe was beautiful!! Very easy to make and very tasty. I decorated my sister's birthday cake with this. I first want to say that I SUCK at decorating cakes. And the decorating came out pretty good. I think it was this icing :D. I will definitely keep this recipe to use the next time! Also. I gave it 5 stars. I don't give anything 5 stars because I am a culinary student and I KNOW good!! This recipe rocks!

Bavarian Cream
I made a 4 layer devils food cake with whipped icing and bavarian cream for my sister's birthday. The bavarian cream itself was awesome. Good flavor and the directions were easy to follow. However, it oozes really bad. I noticed after cutting the cake that the cream did not ooze. My suggestion is to make the cake, add the bavarian cream and put it in the fridge. It will ooze but then you can scrape to drips off and still successfully make a pretty cake. I did not do this so the decorating was kind of crappy but it still tasted good!
