About this Cook
I work full time outside the home but still find plenty of time to pursue my other interests. I love to fish and to fly fish and do so at every opportunity.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Asian foods of all kinds and have an Asian friend / co-worker that makes suggestions to me as to what to cook and how to do it. I actually love to cook ethnic dishes and have attended several cooking classes instructed by ethnic groups and organizations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking traditions are "you better perfect Mom's recipe". I always hear that "it's close to Mom's but I need more practice".
My cooking triumphs
I have no real cooking triumphs other than my family and friends ask me to prepare certain dishes and always come back for more or fight over who gets to take any leftovers (oh excuse me! - planned lunches) As I love to cook, I instilled the same interests in my son. He was cooking at an early age and had PERFECTED Cheesecakes by the time he was 15. His employeer wanted to adopt him and send him to culinary school. As much as I was tempted I decided to keep him. He is now a chef and has accomplished many successes.
My cooking tragedies
I attempted to make cheesecake and it turned out looking like an earthquake had gone through it and a volcano had erupted. Not much to look at but it was quite tasty. They say most household accidents occur in the kitchen - and families end up eating them

Spring Cleaning Cookies
I make something very similar. When a cereal box gets emptied, I save all the "bits" and crumbs that are left and put them in a jar. Everything gets mixed all together. At cookie making time these "bits" are used where it calls for oatmeal. Depending on the type of cereal it sometimes also replaces the coconut. Anything and everything gets used, Those are really a "clean out the pantry" type cookie. I make them alot and never get the same thing twice. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It is always nice when someone works out the "kinks" (quantities) I guestimate a lot when I am creating. The kids love it when we make these as they can add the extras that they prefer - the choices are unlimited. Will have to make them with the grandsons some day. Their dad has a KitchenAid so we can just dump and create. Thanks again.

Almond Flour Waffles
I have made these for a long time - just as listed. I have a heat control on my waffle iron so cook them at a lower temp for longer and they do get crispy. We also make them while camping in the pie irons / bush pie makers over the campfire - those get CRISPY So many allergies in the family and these are safe for all and no one knows they are anything but "breakfast" Personally I prefer them cold

Doggy Meatloaf with Vegetables
I have made this recipe for years as my old dog got quite fussy before the end. She couldn't smell her food anymore so the addition of garlic helped and she just had to have her tomatoes or tomato sauce. I also pureed the veggies as she was picky and pushed them aside if it was one of her fussy days. I froze the leftovers and left a few in the fridge for a few days. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LABELLING THIS IN SEVERAL LANGUAGES ''' FOR THE DOG ''' There is nothing in here that is harmful to people. Good thing. The significant other packed it for lunch with some left over pasta..... Didn't come home barking (at least not more than usual) so it was okay. Never mentioned that it was for the dog.......
