About this Cook
After raising three sons and now also being a grandmother of 3, I no longer cook because I have to. I now love making desserts and holiday baskets and I have an insatiable sweet tooth.
My favorite things to cook
I love seafood, so I enjoy making that for my family. It would behoove me to move to a warmer climate since our preferred method of cooking is on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Swedish Nuts II that I found here on allrecipes.com has become one of my favorite holiday recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Baked macaroni and cheese is one of my specialties. You won't find a creamier, cheesier more fattening version anywhere.
My cooking tragedies
Making homemade breakfast biscuits used to be the bane of my existence until I discovered to never skimp on the BAKING POWDER!

Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties
I thought this was awesome for a quick sauce!! Tangy and right on point. I took the suggestion and added garlic and dill weed. Very tasty!

Swedish Nuts II
It's February 1st and I'm craving these nuts now! I made them for my holiday gift baskets and they were a huge hit! A little strange looking when you first start mixing the nuts with the egg whites and put them on the 'swimming in butter' tray. But it all makes sense as you begin to toss them every half hour. I quadrupled the recipe and turned pecans, walnuts and almonds into Swedish Nuts. They were incredible additions to my gift baskets. They are a new tradition I'm adding to my recipe box for family and friends! Oh and as much as you'll be tempted to, for the sake of calories...don't skimp on the butter. The butter helps to brown and crisp the nuts. The batch I skimped on, its easy to tell the difference. They didn't brown as much and looked more beige than brown. You don't want that.

Best Fried Green Tomatoes
Perfect. I didn't add or take away anything. Seems to be quite the 'man pleasing' recipe.
