Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
I used this as a filling for crepes and it was great. I didn't bother to strain the berries and the seeds didn't bother a bit. I just topped the crepe with a spot of whipped cream and then two fresh raspberries.

Slow Cooker Southern Lima Beans and Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
I made this tonight for dinner. It was great, much better than it looked and it looked great. I did add a clove of garlic just to have a little taste of that. It turned out wonderful. Lots of juice left over and my wife ate it like soup. I cooked it just like it said, two hours on high, four hours on low, turned out great. The spice was just perfect, I may have added about 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper rather than a pinch. Makes allot, so I cut the beans down to half, but kept the rest the same. Will be making this again.

Saucy Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
Was looking for a recipe to use my Brussels sprouts for Thanksgiving. I have one that I had been making for the last several years that people love. I came across this one and just made it to see if this one would work. It looked simple to make, and it was. As far as how I liked it, WOW!!! Simple, tastie, and I can make a large quanity and keep it warm in a crock pot while I cook the rest of the meal. The only thing I did different was I added a clove of garlic, and used red onion. It was very good and well worth making. I am sure there will be another Brussels Sprouts recipe that people will want me to make for them. Thank you Margery.

Boneless Garlic and Rosemary Rubbed Prime Rib with Red Wine Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I made this for Christmas Eve Dinner with all the family there. I had never made Prime Rib before and it turned out better than I could have hoped for. Fantastic flavor, and it was easy. I used dried Rosemary from my garden because I didn't have fresh, and that worked just fine. I made the mushrooms to go along with the rib and they turned out very good also, but took away from the great taste of the meat. I ate the mushrooms on the side and they were a good side dish. I will make this one again for sure.

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
This was very good. I changed it a little by seasoning the bacon with garlic and cracked black pepper. I did not cut the bacon in half and I wrapped it the down around the asparagus and put several pieces of asparagus in each wrap. I cooked it on the grill until the bacon was browned and then placed it on a bed of sweet pea pods and sprinkled sesame seeds on it all. Very good.

Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Very good dish. I zest the lime as someone suggested and I added more garlic and added some onion also. I let it marinate for about 8 hours. It turned out fantastic. I made my wife a nice salad to take to work with some of the left over chicken. The chicken had a fantastic lime and cilantro flavor. The beer flavor was there, but the lime is what really took over. I liked it.

Easy Olive Martini Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Wow, that was great. I made it the first time and the olives in this dish was fantastic. Wife just loved it and said I would be making it for her again soon. I also had added about two two table spoons of finely diced onion. Very good. I made it a second time and took the advice to add black olives too and it added a wonderful flavor to an already wonderful dish. I put a picture of mine in my profile.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
This is a super and easy dish to make. I made this dish according to the recipe, but also made it with a few changes. The best way I found was to use fresh garlic rather than powder garlic, gives it a rich garlic flavor. I also added everything into the melted butter and let it marinade for a while before I put it on the fish. I put a lining of aluminum foil in the pan to keep the marinade covering the fish. Was fantastic.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
A very good dish. I made some small changes, I think for the better. I used fresh ginger rather than powder. I also toasted a tablespoon of sesame seeds in the wok before I added the onion and garlic. Other than those changes I made the recipe as it said. Turned out great. Will be making that one again.

Chinese Happy Family

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
That is a good start. But to have a true happy family you need to add a few things more. You need to have shrimp, scalops and chicken. Also needed is some pea pods along with the veggies. How I make mine is to start with onion, garlic, a little ginger, water chestnuts stir fry together. Add some mushrooms, and green pepper. Remove all items as you fry them in a wok and store them in the wok cover. Stir fry some carrots, and a little celery. removing as they are fried and keep in cover to allow flavors to visit. Stir some mushrooms of your choice and put them in the wok cover then stir fry the chicken, remove to a bowl, add the scalops remove to same bowl, then stir fry shirmp. Add scalops and chicken to wok and continue to heat. Add a mixture of corn starch and chicken broth and bring to boil and let thicken. when thickened, add the items in the wok cover back to make one big happy family. Served over sticky rice. All these flavors are sure happy to be together and they will make one happy family sitting at that dinner table.

Garlic Parmesan Olives

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
This was very good. I added a small amount of onion(very small for an onion lover) and it gave it a really good onion flavor. My wife liked the one with the onion better than the one with just garlic. Both were very good.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
This was a great find. It was a treat. I had harvested a lot of sprouts this year and was trying to find somethign a little different. I made it for a family get together and they all loved it. I let the onions get a little more golden to the point of being crispt and added a clove of garlic toword the end to give it a great glarlic taste.
