i used sesame seeds instead of yeast. i think this would be excellent served with a dip of yogurt, cumin, black pepper and a dash of salt

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

This was a bit on the spicy side for my kids. I used tomato paste instead of diced tomatos, which seemed to work fine. Next time i will decrease the amount of cayenne pepper.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

I expected this cake to be moist and tasty. It was very dry and flavorless. I'm sure it is more authentic but I was very disappointed.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This bread was excellent! I used 1 cup of yogurt instead of the buttermilk and it was nice and moist. A definite must try!

The cake was great but the icing was too sweet. I added more strawberries and then it was too runny. However still tasted great and my 2 year old loved it!

The strawberry cake was awesome. The only reason that I gave this recipe a 4/5 was I found the icing too sweet so I added more strawberries. It got rave reviews from my in-laws!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I would reccommend creaming the sugar and butter together before adding the egg, vanilla and salt. I love the cloves but I think I will add nutmeg and ginger in next time as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Oat Cookies

I found thgese cookies very salty and I had to roll them by hand instead of just dropping them on to the pan. I omitted the pecans and chocolate chips and instead used 4 tbsp fresh chopped basil for an interesting twist.

Though I didn't use the glaze recipe this angel food cake turned out wonderful. It was soft and fluffy and didn't settle when cooled. I will be using this recipe again!

Creamy Smoked Salmon Pasta

I made some alterations to this recipe which made it a 5/5. I used 2 cloves of garlic (added with the onion) instead of the powder, approximately 1 cup of romano cheese and I omitted the peas and mushrooms. Instead, I blanched 2 handfuls of asparagus and steamed 2 small zucchinis. I also added 1 tablespoon of curry powder when adding the flour as well as approximately 1 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper. We really enjoyed this and it will go into our regular recipe repitoire.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

I thought this was too sweet. I would decrease the sugar next time. I also added a variety of vegtables - corn, broccoli, tomatos and carrots - to add flavor as well as a variety of spices. I used 2 tsp of pepper, 1 tsp of cumin, 1/2 tsp of chili pepper and 2 bay leaves. Next time I would also add garlic.

Hot Artichoke Spinach Dip

Not a big fan. It was very creamy, to the point of being watery. The spinach needs to be increased as the artichok flavor dominates. I felt the end product was missing something though not sure what.
