About this Cook
My name is Maria i am a 26 year old, full time working, mom of two and wife,i love my family, i love cooking and creating new recipes and reinventing classic ones. i have introduced my dear husband to the joys of cooking, we hardly ever eat out anymore. Almost every friday we make a special meal and movie night.
My favorite things to cook
i enjoy cooking Italian the most, my kids love pasta and we love the flavors of the italian cuisine. We also love all american food for our movie nights and Mexican is a favorite when having friends over.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas eve my aunt makes this delicious turkey stuffed w/ almonds nuts raisins and God knows what else! this was my Gma's recipe and only her daughter can make it exactly as she did it, the recipe is a mistery!!! everyone has tried it and it is never as good as they do it! I have to figure out the secret!
My cooking triumphs
At this point i can say i hardly ever mess things up anymore. Based on my family's opinions, my white chicken&mushroom lasagna is very good, i can also say i make a good Filet mignon and chicken enchiladas, chicken cordon bleu, and chicken pasta with homemade alfredo sauce. I have mastered many cookie recipes as well.
My cooking tragedies
A lot! mostly when i started. The biggest disappointments have been some of my attempts to make a cake from scratch (the dense, dryer ones used for fondant cakes)

Apple Coffee Cake
i made it last week and everyone loved it! i didn't have vegetable oil( i realized until i was about to start) so i looked up for substitutes to it it said apple sauce or melted butter or margarine, so instead i added 1/2 cup of applesauce and 1/2 cup of melted butter. i didn't give it 5 stars b/c of the changes i made so i'm not sure how the original recipe would come out
