Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
The best quick homemade pizza dough I have ever had. Not overly thick and doughy but not crispy and thin either, just that perfect in between. I made this tonight and the whole family was raving about the dough. Only changes I made was I added just a smidge of garlic and herb seasoning, but even with that added this pizza dough recipe shines right through to show it would do just as well even without the added seasoning.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Made this last night for dinner. Hands down a keeper, everyone raved about it. I did make some changes...omitted salsa just used Rotel tomatoes in with hamburger and added my fave taco seasoning and used Nacho cheese flavored chips instead of plain tortilla chips. I also doubled the hamburger and used black beans instead of what recipe called for just out of preference. This was very easy and quick to put together. Highly recommend

Original Kumla Recipe from Mom

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
Been looking for a good Kumla recipe. Used to love having these when I was younger. Only thing I changed was no bacon, we always used the ham in the kumla so being that is what I'm used to I stuck to that. Also added ham bouillon to water while boiling ham and no other seasonings for more ham flavor. I did like the potatoes being shredded better than the mashed I had grown up with. Overall great recipe.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
This was a very good recipe....would work awesome as a starter recipe with the ability to change the flavor according to substituting the vanilla extract. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is it was too sweet to use as a vanilla recipe for my taste so I did end up adding the cocoa and it came out really good.

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I did recipe as described but had one little issue with it as it was written. Making two inch balls and then letting them rise again and baking for actually 5 minutes more than recommended still left middle of rolls not done. I had to shut oven off( I was scared they would brown more) and leave in warm oven for another ten minutes for them to finish. Once they were done they were perfect. Everyone loved them but with the baking issues I had I can't give a five. Recipe is good enough to try again but next time making smaller balls, the end result with two inches were big enough that at one inch and then rising again they would be plenty big enough, and see if this helps.

Eggnog I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Very good starter recipe. The only changes I had to make was doubling the egg yolks( I agree with other reviewers without this it isn't eggy enough like eggnog should be) . I also added 1 tsp of nutmeg to the eggnog itself because it was alittle too plain for how we like our eggnog. I didn't add in the rum but kept it as an option on the side so the kids could enjoy it also. With the changes I made it came out thick and oh so yummy. Everyone at our Christmas loved it. I also made this the night before due to time constraints the next day and it kept perfectly.

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I was looking for an easy but knock your socks off Mac and Cheese for Christmas dinner. This was definitely it!!!!! The only thing I did different than in the recipe is I added the cheese to the white sauce and melted it in after taking off burner before adding to pasta. I also doubled recipe. Just for some little extra something I took tbsp of butter melted, half sleeve of saltines and three strips of crisp bacon and crumbled all together in my food processor and added to the top. That topping was the perfect compliment to the cheeses used in the recipe. I also made this the night before. Next afternoon put in oven at recommended cooking temp and added about 15 minutes to cooking time, but came out perfect so definitely a dish u can prepare ahead and bake later.

Christmas Stollen

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
My husband lived in Germany for awhile as a child and misses some of the German fare he got there. We are lucky enough to have a store here that sells an alright stollen but this year for Christmas he requested I make one for him. He is never going to let me buy one again. He said this had everything he had been looking for but was missing in the store bought kind. I did recipe as it is except no raisins and currants but substituted dates and added a half cup of walnuts. It was wonderful. Everyone that had it at our Christmas dinner loved it. I will definitely be making this again

Oven Fried Chicken IV

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I thought this was a great starter recipe. Lots of room for playing with this recipe. I made it the other night just as the recipe calls except I halved everything because I was only making 3 servings. I used hind quarters also instead of legs or breasts adjusting the cook time just slightly and they came out really good. I found the garlic little too much for me but my husband and son loved it. I think next time I will halve the garlic I used and add some honey or dijon mustard for a little more flavor next time, but I will definitely be making this again.

Schnitzel with a Twist

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Just a note about the seasoning....It can really be what is to your taste but if you want to stick to the recipe as I do it can be any Greek type seasoning as long as it is ground ....little chunks of seasoning might not cook right. The seasoning I use has pepper garlic powder onion powder and a few others that just say herbs for them , down side for some on the Cavender's if they do use, it does have msg in it. I personally don't mind using msg but I know there are those out there that don't like using it. So best bet is to go with a simple seasoning that u like and use that if you don't want the msg or if you can't find Cavender's. On the browning too fast this is cooked in butter so the browning time is shorter than with oil, so these must be cooked low and slow they will crisp but they should take time also when I originally submitted this recipe I said thicker than normal but did not specify thickness ( sorry that was my goof) that was added when they kitchen certified the recipe. 1/2 in is too thick I tend toward 1/4. Schnitzel is usually pretty thin ...1/8 or thinner. Hope this helps......Been a couple years and I have tried something new for those of you who don't want to play around with pounding out. I know not all may have a Wal Mart available but for those that do the the loin chops that say thin on the package they sell work awesome for this recipe for easier prep. Used them a few times now and I almost like them better then pounding out

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I just made these for dinner tonight. Followed directions exactly except for suggestion to cover part way then uncover and this turned out perfect!!! When my husband took his first bite all he said was OH MY GOD and eyes rolled....that is enough to give a definite five in my book. Made rice with broccoli as side dish the sauce left in pan is delicious served over rice. I will be making this again very soon.
