A guy that had to learn how to cook when he was a teenager and enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Favorite?? Hmm! I don't have any favorites but have many dishes I love to prepare for myself and for others. I do enjoy baking breads, cooking lamb dishes, fish, beef, chicken, turkey, seafood... the list goes on!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Originally from Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada, family cooking traditions would include soda farls (hot off the iron griddle!!) Irish Wheaton, Ulster Fry (heart attack on a plate), lots of lamb and beef dishes, and of course, creations with the potato. Lots of "champ" comes to mind.
My cooking triumphs
I'm not sure I've had "triumphs" - although even my mother says my turkey is the absolute best (and that's saying something coming from her!). I also baked a dozen loaves of bread for her wedding recently - most of the guests wanted my recipe. I didn't let on it was "No Knead Bread" and let them believe I had spent hours and hours of kneading and baking in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to mention.
