Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
Made it as is, except I screwed up and used baking soda instead of baking powder. It made the cake rise more, but it was still delicious! I think I will make it this way from now on! It did take longer than the 35-40 minutes. After 35 minutes, I increased the oven temp to 375 degrees, put tin foil over the top, and baked an additional 20 minutes.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
They turned out awesome! I was so excited to try this recipe. We don't eat a lot of bagels in my house, but they were so fun to make! I topped mine with dried minced onion, poppyseeds, and sesame seeds.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
I'm hooked!!! I baked mine for 10 minutes and they turned out perfect. Lightly sprayed with olive oil using my misto sprayer, and then drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I waited until after they were done to sprinkle with sea salt. They tasted like a salt and vinegar chip!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
Too bland for me. If I make it again, I will add some chile peppers for some flavor and heat. And more garlic!

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Very good - and really easy. I like that it doesn't call for sticky molasses. The dough was dry and crumbly so I had to work with it a bit to get it to roll out. I rolled it out on a silicone baking sheet. I didn't have to flour the surface because the dough wasn't at all sticky. Baked for 7 minutes at 350 degrees. Next time I will just do 6 minutes (I like a little softer of a cookie). Yielded about 4 dozen cookies.

Ken's Texas Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
YUM! This was delicious - it was very thick though. Next time I will use more broth or less beans so it is more soupy. Also, I am going to put a few drops of hot sauce while it simmers to kick up the heat. I like my chili to be spicy! I served this with fritos, sour cream, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

Asparagus and Mozzarella Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
This was very tasty. I used freshed mozzarella and did not use bread crumbs. For seasoning, I used Mrs. Dash salt-free herb and garlic seasoning. Took 10 minutes longer than the recipe calls for. I covered with tin foil for the last 10 minutes of baking. I did not have a problem with dried out chicken.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Very delicious! The meat was very moist and the rapid roast created a crispy skin. Delicious! I would recommend rubbing the seasonings under the skin as well as on top of the skin. Next time I think I will increase the oregano, basil, and cayenne - all we could really taste was the black pepper.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Very interesting blend of spices. Next time (if there is a next time), I will cut back on the oregano. That is all I could taste! I have had WAY better pork chop recipes.

DELICIOUS! Next time I will add more chipotle peppers and sauce. My husband and I both love the heat!

Strawberry Freeze

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This turned out very yummy. I used Bacardi mixers as my juice and used a nilla wafer crust instead of the chips ahoy cookies (just because someone I was making it for cannot eat chocolate). I would definitely recommend this treat for a hot summer day. Very refreshing!

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
This is the best pork chop recipe I have ever tried. I have made it for many guests - and all have raved about how good these chops are! I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
Fantastic! I made as is, and also made without the salt (trying to reduce sodium intake in my household). Both tasted wonderful - we didn't miss the salt at all! I will NEVER be buying taco seasoning packets again (have you ever looked at the amount of sodium in those darn things?!).

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
They were good, but a little too buttery for me. I think next time I will reduce the amount of butter and add a little milk to make the dough a little more workable. Otherwise, they smelled delicious baking in my house and were easy to make.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Easy to make, but bland and dry. I used extra minced garlic and olive oil, but it was still not that great. Too bad because I love chicken, asparagus, and penne.

Honey Graham Crackers

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
These turned out absolutely perfect! I followed the recipe exactly (except I used real butter instead of margarine). I will be making my own graham crackers from now on with this recipe. I did put cinnamon sugar on top using the McCormick Cinnamon Sugar grinder. YUM!
