Val and Jess's Vegan Avocado Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Fantastic! I always think I don't like Avacado. But I know it's good for me. This is a great way to get some in. Will go in regular rotation for me.

Ziti Alfredo with Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
This is in my rotation for sure. Very nice little recipe. I searched veggie alfredo hoping to find something I had all ingredients on hand for and this was it. I even had to skimp on a few things (no half and half in house/only the "green can stuff" of cheese) and it was still worthy of the 5 star. I like that it's adaptable and look forward to adding summer veggies (zucchini!) as they start being in season. I might add a shake of red pepper flakes for some zip as well.

Amazing Pork Chops in Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
This was pretty good. Nice and quick and something different with pork chops and my family liked it with some penne pasta. I doubled the sauce and that was more than enough for the meat and pasta. The only change I made was to press a clove of garlic into the butter before I browned the meat. I like garlic in white sauces, so that was a preference thing.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Another A+++. This is a great recipe. Sometimes I like to use some bacon fat instead of butter if I am feeling decadent but either way this is a perfect potato soup recipe. Top it with some shredded cheese and crumbled bacon.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Made these for the company Christmas potluck. Super tasty. I was glad to have a way to make potatoes and keep them warm for the first half of the day and I suspect I'll use them next time I do a holiday dinner and don't want to deal with hot potato mashing at the last second. They aren't precisely traditional with the cheese and sour cream in them, but still very very good.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This is a perfect marinade for chicken and steak. I used it to take steak and chicken camping for fajitas and we loved it. The only one I ever use now.

I need to make these again! Stumbled across them in my recipe box, but I remember how excellent they are. Very nutty and sweet.

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
We've made these several times. They always go over big with my guys and I do like them. But they're a little on the salty side since they are full of processed foods. Still, nice and easy when you know you'll need a warm filling dinner after a cold day.

Perfection! I made these exactly as directed (except that I tend to eyeball the spices and adjust flavor to my family's taste) I will never do ribs any other way again.

Aw-some Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
My very favorite coleslaw. So so good! I made homemade mayo one day, since I was out of regular store bought and that really upped the tangy homemade flavor. Any time I can do so, I will make the homemade mayo with this.

Chocolate Walnut Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
WOW! Just wow. I was looking for a way to use up a ton of chopped walnuts that were given to me. I figured this would do the trick, but I didn't expect to like it better than a pecan pie. And I usually love pecan pies above all others. This was excellent! I used an Amish "Pat in Pan" pie crust and the crumbly texture was perfect with this walnut pie.

Raspberry Ribbons

I made these with homemade raspberry jam for the holidays. Lovely light flavor. I did them as thumbprints, but next time I want to do them as the "ribbons" to see how they come out.

Blue Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I was glad to find this. It's the same cheese ball I grew up eating, and I always lose the recipe. I do not generally like cheese balls. If I want cheese, I get some cheese slices. But this is a great tangy flavor. Perfect for holiday company. Thanks!

Torrejon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Hands down my favorite bread recipe to date. I halved this and used my kitchen aid for the kneading. At first it was a VERY tough dry dough so I added a touch of water, and figured it was going to turn out awful. But it rose perfectly both times and it's a perfect dense slightly-sweet bread. Great for toast and grilled sandwiches, and also a nice hearty tuna and veg sandwich. Nice light crumb. Just the kind of bread my family loves. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chinese Broccoli Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
Yummy! I am eating it right now and love it. Was looking for something to use up a bag of brocc slaw in my cabinet. I had to fudge with a few small things (didn't have sesame seeds) but overall was true to the recipe. I'll be intentional about getting the nuts and seeds next time. Thanks!

Greek Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
These were actually pretty disappointing. I am not sure where I went wrong. I followed the recipe precisely, but they just spread out all over the cookie pan when they baked. Didn't hold shape. And really, for all that, didn't taste much different to me than many other cmas cookies. I can't give them less than a 3 stars because it's probably my fault they didn't turn out.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

I thought this was fantastic! A great and relatively easy fix for my sweet and sour cravings. And far more affordable! I added a touch of garlic powder to the chicken batter. And I might put slightly less sugar in the sauce next time. Thank you for the great recipe!

I loved these. The only thing is, I use my favorite reuben dressing, which is 1/2 thousand island and 1/2 russian dressing. Tangy and zippy. It's perfect!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
This was, hands down, the best cheesecake I've ever made. Definitely used the "water bath" method. Not crack in site. Soooo fabulous! (I did purchase and warm up seedless raspberry jam rather than making. It was wonderful)
