Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
These are so cute! I cut them into miniature gingerbread men shapes. I used about 15 oz of pumpkin, 3 huge tablespoons of peanut butter (my puppies LOVE peanut butter), and I added about 2 tablespoons of molasses, 1/2 cup of instant oats and about 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds. It ended up making ALOT of puppy treats, so that's what my puppies are giving to their friends for Christmas! Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies with Sea Salt

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I was excited to try a new recipe, but nothing about these turned out. I have made hundreds of different cookies and this is the only recipe to ever be a complete failure.

Sweet Butter

I skipped the honey (didn't have any on hand) but I thought it was really tasty. I made it to go with the Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread. Everyone really liked it. Thanks for the recipe!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
This was really, really good. And super easy. I used a plain old skillet and I had three breasts which I cut in half before pounding. A good way to stretch food dollars. I will definitely make this again!

Yummy! Reminds me of McDonald's caramel-mocha, but A LOT cheaper!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Moist and spicy (but not too spicy). I got 3 mini loaves and two were gone at Christmas brunch and I froze the other for ourselves. Thanks for the recipe!

Oatmeal Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This was the first time I have ever eaten or baked an oatmeal pie, but my husband loves them so I decided to give it a shot for Thanksgiving. It turned out very well and was super easy to make. Some people really liked it, some hated it. It does taste similar to pecan pie, and I thought it was good served with whipped cream.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
It may be helpful to note to also add 1 -2 tablespoons of milk to the frosting. They are very good. If done right and not overmixed/overbaked, they are fudgey and gooey. And of course the frosting is sweet. Isn't that the point?......This is the exact recipe from Hershey's website and they have the milk listed. I wrote that in my original review, but somehow my reviews are often edited or deleted without my permission. Interesting.

Apple Orchard Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
So good! I made it for Christmas brunch. Not a drop was left! I did add one cup of Apple Cider to it. The only thing I would do differently would be to double it. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I doubled the recipe and added a couple extra potatoes. It was good. I will make it again, but next time I will add only one small onion for the double batch and maybe even more potatoes. I enjoyed the addition of the hot sauce and thought that it was the perfect amount.

I used left-over cajun chicken. This was okay. A little boring but quick and easy.

Roasted Garlic

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I used method two, and roasted about eight cloves. I sprinkled them with some salt and pepper, and they turned out great after about twenty minutes. I put them in mashed potatoes and threw a few cloves into my meatloaf. Yum! Thanks for the recipe!

Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
This is really good. I used 2 tablespoons of butter and about one tablespoon of cream cheese. I also threw in a teaspoon or so of marshmallow fluff. It was smooth and creamy, yet hardened just enough to coat my sugar cookies well. I used it on the Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies on this site.

Mine turned out extremely thin and flat. They had great flavor, though, and everyone said they were good.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This was not the best recipe. It definitely has too much butter. I used 1 1/2 cups of flour and about 2 1/2 cups of oats and I think that is what made it edible. With that much butter, it was greasy and instead of being slightly crumbly it became doughy. If I try it again I will probably use half the butter.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
My husband and I LOVED this recipe. I had used a smaller roast and so I used one packet of beefy onion soup mix and one can of condensed garlic mushroom soup and then added half a can of water and a couple garlic cloves. The gravy was delicious. I served it with red skinned smashed garlic potatoes. It was one of those meals that looked and tasted like you slaved all day, but really only took twenty minutes.

Hurry-Up Tuna Supper

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This was exactly what I was looking for--quick, easy, one-pan, and a great way to sneak some veggies into my 1 year old's dinner. I used about half a packet of onion soup mix instead of dried, minced onion and seasoned salt instead of regular. Next time I think I will add some cheese at the end. The measurements in this recipe are right on, too. Thanks for the recipe!
