Chocolate Truffle Cookies with Sea Salt

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I was excited to try a new recipe, but nothing about these turned out. I have made hundreds of different cookies and this is the only recipe to ever be a complete failure.

Hurry-Up Tuna Supper

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This was exactly what I was looking for--quick, easy, one-pan, and a great way to sneak some veggies into my 1 year old's dinner. I used about half a packet of onion soup mix instead of dried, minced onion and seasoned salt instead of regular. Next time I think I will add some cheese at the end. The measurements in this recipe are right on, too. Thanks for the recipe!

Copper Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I made this exactly as written and it was phenomenal. My hubby finished them off in , like, 10 seconds. I had been looking for a little bit of a different twist on carrots and was so glad I tried this. I will make it again, but doubled!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

This was really, really good. And super easy. I used a plain old skillet and I had three breasts which I cut in half before pounding. A good way to stretch food dollars. I will definitely make this again!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I doubled the recipe and added a couple extra potatoes. It was good. I will make it again, but next time I will add only one small onion for the double batch and maybe even more potatoes. I enjoyed the addition of the hot sauce and thought that it was the perfect amount.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
It may be helpful to note to also add 1 -2 tablespoons of milk to the frosting. They are very good. If done right and not overmixed/overbaked, they are fudgey and gooey. And of course the frosting is sweet. Isn't that the point?......This is the exact recipe from Hershey's website and they have the milk listed. I wrote that in my original review, but somehow my reviews are often edited or deleted without my permission. Interesting.

Apple Orchard Punch

So good! I made it for Christmas brunch. Not a drop was left! I did add one cup of Apple Cider to it. The only thing I would do differently would be to double it. Thanks for the recipe!

I skipped the honey (didn't have any on hand) but I thought it was really tasty. I made it to go with the Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread. Everyone really liked it. Thanks for the recipe!

Moist and spicy (but not too spicy). I got 3 mini loaves and two were gone at Christmas brunch and I froze the other for ourselves. Thanks for the recipe!

Brown Sugar Smokies

I made these for Christmas brunch and they were gone before anything else. Next time I will double (or triple) the recipe. I had several people ask for it. Thanks for the recipe!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
So good! I made this for Christmas brunch and there wasn't a spoonful left! Several people asked me for the recipe. The only thing I did different was to use a combination of mild and sharp cheddar instead of swiss and a combo of sausage and bacon. For the people who say it is bland, I would say make sure the meat is good quality. I used meat from our local market and it was far from flavorless. Thanks for the recipe!

Really flavorful. Also, they have a really great texture. I used all butter and lemon juice instead of cream of tartar. I am going to have to make these every Christmas now! Thanks for the recipe!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Excellent no-bake recipe! This is one that it always requested in my house for the holidays and they always disappear before they cool. This EXACT recipe always turns out perfectly and I have made it dozens of times. Allowing the mixture to boil rapidly for exactly one minute is crucial. They are runny at first but set up beautifully. Make them small and don't bother trying to double the recipe. It will be crumbly by the time you form all the cookies.

I was so excited to bite into these when they came out of the oven. They were gorgeous! But, unfortunately I thought they looked better than they tasted. Not terrible, but I think the recipe on the back of the bag is better.
