Mosaic Dessert Bars

World's Best Lasagna

To me, this was just OK. I don't think there's nearly enough cheese and it was just so heavy with all the meat. I think it's just my personal tastes that I prefer a lighter version of lasagne. It was very expensive too, so I guess I expected it to taste out-of-this world and so I felt a bit let down.

Jalapeno Poppers of Champions

These were great. Like others, I used real bacon, which I precooked a bit. I also blanched the peppers in simmering water for two minutes as mentioned in another recipe's review. Baked at 400 degrees 'til done. By precooking the peppers and the bacon, I cut down on smoke and everything cooked through at the same time.

Simply Potatoes® Cheesy Hash Browns

My husband LOVES this recipe, which we found on the package. That version didn't include the topping. We've experimented with various cream soups and really like the creamy green chile soup. It adds a spiciness that we prefer. It is very greasy, so he doesn't get this often, poor guy. Also, the very firm texture of the potatoes, even after cooking can take some getting used to.

Spicy Glazed Pecans

I made these for Christmas and served them with a salad of greens, sliced green apple, thinly sliced cheddar with a raspberry vinaigrette from this site. I did reduce the cayenne to 1/4 tsp and the mixture dried out when cooking (perhaps because of our altitude?), so I just added a little bit more water. Otherwise, it worked perfectly and I loved it. My kids actually ate these too and they are very picky.

Royal Icing III

This recipe works great. I don't have much experience decorating cookies, but this worked perfectly. My only thing is that it sounds like it would make a lot, but it goes really fast, so I would suggest making a double-batch. We used this for gingerbread houses and it works great. Amazingly, the kids actually thought it tastes great!

Laura's Lemon Roasted Potatoes

This has become my favorite way to make potatoes and it's so easy to whip up a double batch when company is coming. The only change I make is to use garlic powder instead of fresh because I think the fresh has a tendency to scorch, but it is good both ways.

Mozzarella Meat Whirl

I did my best to seal the ends, but the cheese leaked out through little tears in the sides. I think it will roll better if I grate it next time. My hubby does not like onions and loves cheese, so this was a meatloaf recipe he actually ate and said he wouldn't mind eating again. Although i followed suggestions to reduce the amount of water in the sauce, I just didn't care for it and will try something different next time.

Chimichurri Sauce

This is wonderful on beef. I just loved it so much. My friend from Argentina really enjoyed it and her husband ate so much and loved it so I sent the rest home with him. To me that was a great success and I was so pleased to treat them to something they really enjoyed. Thanks for the recipe!

Red Raspberry Vinaigrette

This worked really great with a salad of greens, cheese, & sliced green apples. I am only giving it 4 stars because I ended up getting sick of it because of its strong flavor and threw about half of it away. Great for company, but the flavor, for me, just wouldn't work for a frequent option.

Corn Fritters

I loved these, but surprisingly the kids didn't really take to them. Too unfamiliar I suppose. I'd assumed they'd devour them. I took some to my neighbors to try and they devoured them, asked for the recipe right away and made a batch for themselves that very night. I used about 1 1/2 T of sugar and since I can only buy corn in 15 oz cans, I just used that whole amount. Also, I don't have shortening, so just used margarine and it worked out great. Dusted them with powdered sugar afterwards. I kept trying in vain to get them to be rounder. Tips anyone?

Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken Breasts with Herbed Goat Cheese

This was so delicious! I used thin-sliced chicken breasts, so the proportion of chicken to the "good stuff" was really great. I used figs as I did not have dates and didn't care to buy them just for this, and it worked well. It does need a sauce, so I need to figure that out.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

As other reviewers suggested, I used 1 can of cream soup instead of two and I added 1 tsp beef bouillon granules. It's perfect comfort food and so easy.

Pepperoncini Beef

We made as directed and it was wonderful! I was hesitant about the strength of the peppers but they did mellow somewhat and when combined with the other ingredients, were delicious. What a nice, easy dinner and a good option for for a game night with friends.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

The taste was pretty good, but the texture was greasy and grainy and I followed the recipe very precisely. I didn't use cake flour as others suggested since it is so expensive, but perhaps that would've helped. We ended up throwing it all away. Such a waste and a disappointment as I really wanted my husband to enjoy this Christmas treat!

Love this recipe and use it anytime I want to make minestrone. I add extra zucchinni and omit the spinach. I also add a can of diced tomatoes with garlic and oregano. Delicious!
