Venison Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
I made this in the crockpot for 4 hours on high with buck steaks. I rinsed the buck steaks in cold water before starting and added all ingredients to the pot after browning the meat in a skillet with onion and garlic. I only had 1 onion (added some onion flakes), 2 potatoes, and added celery. Very good, not gamey, tender meat.

Basic Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I used all fresh spices and topped the cookies with lavender vanilla bean sugar from our local Savory Spice Shop (brushed on olive oil and sprinkled sugar). I used white pepper instead of black. I refrigerated the dough overnight. I cut very thin, small cookies and baked them for 10-12 minutes instead. They were crispy ginger snaps and I got the most compliments on cookies that I've ever received. Very tasty! Thanks for the recipe!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
Crust was great but required A LOT more water here in Colorado. After I figured out the lack of moisture everything worked out great!

Killer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
Great Pie! Used all fresh spices and an alternative crust recipe! This was a hit at Thanksgiving. (Cooking time for me was approx 1.5 times the amount listed and I did use foil for about 30 mins around my decorative crust)

Mystery Ingredient Wild Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
A BIG hit at Thanksgiving! I really liked this pie and used all fresh spices from a local spice shop. I noticed the butter pooled on mine but I think I should have added a few more vents on the top - used a butter knife to make 5 small slits around the edges and everything mixed perfectly.

2-Layer Rum Pecan Pie with Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
Did not expect the cheesecake layer to mix with the pecan layer. I used new Rum extract but it is so strong the pie was barely touched by anyone. I was disappointed to say the least and I will not be making this pie again.

Onion Elk Roast Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
Very tasty! This is the first Elk Roast I've made. I wasn't paying attention and added the sour cream in at the beginning, Still tasted great! I did add some additional water as well and carrots about half way through cooking. Served over wild rice.

So delicious! A little sweet for me. I blended the zucchini and used walnuts that I had on hand.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
Definitely not my grandmothers cookies. Taste was a little off for me, seems like they're missing something but overall tast good for cookies with no butter or shortening.

Simply Potatoes® Easy Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
I had an adventure with this one; i bought diced tomatoes with garlic and onion accidentally instead of the plain. I used canned veggies instead of frozen. I used a packet gravy mix and I couldn't find the Simply Potatoes so I used instant, and surprisingly, everything came out great!

Peanut Butter Cup Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
I followed this recipe and was concerned that they wouldn't taste good, especially since i filled the cups half way and barely had enough for 12 cups. I sprayed vegetable oil on my spoons before mixing and putting the thick batter in the cups, this helped a lot! Overall, they were delicious, possibly cooked a little too long (30mins) but still came out great.
