I'm a School Library Media Specialist, so I'm very busy all the time, but I have breaks and summers (usually) off. I have four children and one grandchild.

Comfort foods, because my family appreciates them!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Italian food from where I grew up (Connecticut) and Southern food from where I am now and my husband's side of the fmaily. His grandmother passed me some great southern recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I guess the first time I made a turkey with all the side dishes and everything at my house for Thanksgiving - and everything turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a recipe for my boyfriend once when I was in high school (a LONG time ago :)) and I overcooked the meat so badly, it was dry and tasted like shoe leather, but he ate it.

Imitation Crab Salad
This was very good, and I didn't even have all the ingredients! My daughter was at the grocery store and I had the imitation crab meat, but not much else, since we were out of almost everything! I had the onion, crab, mayo and sour cream - no celery, eggs or bread. I had some dried celery flakes, so I ground them into a powder and used that to season, along with some red pepper, season salt, and lemon pepper seasoning, then regular salt and pepper. I ate it with some crackers and it was really good!

Sherry Apple Pork Chops
I made this for dinner last night, and it was delicious. The only change I made was to use white wine instead of sherry, just because that is what I had. I also drained off some of the juices and used cornstarch to make a sauce for it. Everyone loved it, but I am a big fan of pork with apples, so I loved it most of all. Thanks!
