About this Cook
I'm 87 years old and have been married for 67 years. We have 2 boys,2 grand-children and 5 great grand-children. I retired as a Federal law enforcement officer about 25 years ago.During my entire time of employment, my wife stayed home and cooked for me.,(Less the time I served on Guadalcanal during WW2).After my retirement, it was only fair that I took over a large part of the cooking. It turned out to be my major hobby plus golf. Needless to say, my entire family loves all of those goodies and different kinds of ethnic food.It isn't all fun and games, but I love it.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Home made goodies for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I didn't feel that I had arrived at all until I made a good flaky pie crust.
My cooking tragedies
I cooked a complete sit down Thanksgiving dinner for 25. I burnt the gravy. Yuk. I was using a picnic type bench to seat six. The bench suddenly without warning collapsed. Bang they were gone.At least no injuries.

Creamy Rice Pudding
I save some recipes that sound good and I save recipes that are proven to me to be 5 star. I had left over brown rice from making stuffed bell peppers.I used that rice and tried your recipe. It was without any doubt a 5 star in both simplicity and flavor.

Caramel Popcorn
I can only repeat what the oher 5 stars had to say. It is delicious. It is crunchy. It is addictive. It is inexpensive. It is the best. It is so good that it should be illegal. My kids, my grand kids and my great grandkids will love you this Xmas.

Tasty Spaghetti Sauce
The recipe would make a good start for Ragu alla bolognese a specialty of Bologna. All you would need to add would be 1 stick of celery chopped;1 carrot chopped;1/2 cup red wine and 1/2 cup milk. 2 tbsp pancetta would enhance it if you have it. I would also substitute red pepper flakes to taste instead of the black pepper.
