My name is Kelly. I am a blessed wife of the most incredible man I know, and the mother of a 1 year old that keeps me guessing.
I enjoy the crazy, busy, radical, ever changing mystery of tomorrow.
I grew up in a small town and ate meat and potatoes for every meal. Dinner was always tasty yet boring. It wasn't until I moved away for a long while and discovered worlds of food and wine that I realized breakfast, lunch, and dinner could consist of so much more! (Of course I still LOVE my meat 'n taters!) This knowledge and curiosity burns me- as I moved back to a small town and believe that I am now the only resident who has ever enjoyed such (simple!) pleasures as warm brie and chardonnay, vietnamese pho, collard greens and fried okra.
I have few prejudices when it comes to food. I enjoy it all- so long as it's cooked!
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely enjoy cooking/baking/grilling anything. I love trying new recipes, making one of my own come to life, or attempting to perfectly duplicate one of my mother's.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The only tradition I can think of is making popcorn balls with my Grandmother every December. :)
My cooking triumphs
Inspired by a vegitarian I once worked with, I spent a week making various veggie-only meals and it was absolutely incredible. It didn't quite inspire me to kick the meat habit though :)
My cooking tragedies
