Awesome! The broth is sooo flavorful! I add thinly sliced carrots, few shakes of soy sauce, and an extra cup of broth. Next time, I will add 2 extra cups of broth. Thank you for this delicious and healthy recipe!

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
After making these, I now love sweet potatoes!! They were quickly gone at our Thanksgiving dinner. I can't wait to make these again for Christmas dinner. I reduced the white sugar slightly (1/3 cup) and used 7 potatoes. They were still sweet and perfect with the brown sugar topping.I plan to increase the pecans and topping next time. I'm going to use glazed pecans...yum!

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
Not my type of cookie, but my 4 kids like them. They are a little salty, so reducing salt is a good tip. I cooked mine without reading reviews...knew better. They are crisp and oily. I used mini m&ms and they stay in the batter with no problem. I'm more of a chewy cookie person, so this will be my last time making these. I'd rate 3 stars if my kids wouldn't have said otherwise.

Brownie Mallow Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
Most important TIP: let the marshmallows cool before pouring the chocolate mixture on! If the marshmallows are warm you cannot spread the thick chocolate layer very easily and they will not be pretty. 2 Tip: Cook your brownies however you like them...fudge-like (my kind), cake-like, crunchy...it is whatever makes YOU happy. 3 Tip: If you like more of a creamy marshmallow layer use marshmallow cream. If you like more of a soft chewy layer (my preference) use reg marshmallows. EVERYONE loved these and they were super easy! I refrigerated mine for 2-3 hours and had no problem cutting them strait out of the fridge. The fudge brownie, chewy marshmallow, and crunchy top remind me of the different textures you find in candy bars...yum! My large family loves sweets so we had no problem finishing them off. They are sweet, but isn't that the point :o) Enjoy!!

Creamy Cheddar Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I enjoyed this soup, but my kids did not. I used 1/2 lb of cheddar and 1/2 lb Velveeta, everything else I left the same. I did not blend the mixture, so I could taste little pieces of onion. I strained the soup to get the onions out before serving my children. I would think onion powder would work great and allow you to skip the blender step if you do not want onion pieces floating around.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Impressive! My crock-pot died on me, so I was forced to use my oven and I'm so glad I did. The roast was super tender...perfect. I can't wait to make for company. I used what I had on hand, cream of celery, mushroom gravy mix, and Dr.Pepper. I didn't notice a sweet taste and neither did my kids. Everything was so flavorful!

Ham A La King

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Excellent! I wasn't sure if I would like the sauce since it called for American cheese, which i despise, but it turned out delicious. I omitted the black olives and parsley (didn't have on hand) and added 1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar...perfection! I also used canned peas and my cubed ham was frozen, so i cooked the sauce a few minutes longer to make sure everything warmed up. Definitely follow the pastry directions and preheat the oven, so the pastries rise properly. I had extra sauce left, even after over filling the pastries. I will use it up on some Texas toast or rice...yum! My kids also gave the meal a thumbs up.Thanks for the super easy, delicious recipe Jean!

Honey-Garlic Angel Hair

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
Different, but delicious! You can definitely taste the sweetness, so do not try this if you aren't a sugar bug :o) I love this recipe and so does my teenage daughter, but my younger children do not. I add extra Parmesan cheese and think it pairs well with chicken and green beans.

Crunch Bar

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Yummy! I stuck with the original amounts of butter and brown sugar called for, because my pan could only fit 1 sleeve of crackers. My crackers were covered perfectly! If your pan requires you to use 1.5 sleeves or 2 sleeves of crackers, then it only makes sense to increase butter & sugar amounts as suggested by other reviewers. I boiled my buttery sugar mix for a full 3 min, until it was nice and thick. It set up quickly. I put my pan in the freezer to speed the process and used foil with non-stick spray. The bars came out easily. Everyone LOVED these buttery crisp bars! They are absolutely joining my cookie/bar tray and would make a great holiday gift for neighbors, friends or work!!

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
Easy to make if you have the ingred. and pretty yummy for a healthy muffin. The adults who tasted these enjoyed them enough to eat more than one, but were warned they were healthy before trying. The little ones also enjoyed, but the teenagers did not like them. I would make again and share with those who appreciate the healthy ingredients. I did feel they were a tad dry and some of the little kids said they tasted like oatmeal.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
Easy & delicious recipe! I used two 8oz cans of dough and halved filling amount, then layered as directed in 8x8 glass pan. I think i would have liked even more filling in mine, so I'm not sure about halving the filling for a 9X13 pan. Icing was great with the addition of some almond extract. Filling had perfect flavor ( i dislike a lemon flavor in cream cheese, but didn't notice it at all).

I really thought these little guys would be a winner, but not so for my family of 5. We love, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg! I found the flavor bland even with the topping. I will prob have to through them out :( Super easy recipe though!

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
After reading reviews that said the sauce was more sweet than sour, I decided to reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup, substituted 1/4 cup of water for pineapple juice and added about 2 tbls of ketchup. It had just the right amount of sweetness. My 4 kids (13,11,9,6) usually don't like new recipes and can be very picky...but they ALL ate their meatballs up quickly and said they were a thumbs yummy! I agree! Thanks!
