Yummy! I found this recipe when looking for a dessert i could enjoy with my gluten free friend. It was very simple to make and wonderful to partake.

Plum Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
I really didn't like this recipe. I followed recipe exactly, except that i substituted real plums for plum baby food, and i omitted the nuts. This recipe didn't have much flavor, and where it did, the flavors didn't work. It's too bad. I was really looking forward to it.

Chocolate Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I have to say i really didn't like this pound cake. I love a dense moist cake, but i didn't like the texture or the flavor of this one. It's very sweet - but not particularly chocolatey, and the texture is a little beyond dense - i can't think of the right word. It's too much. I won't make this one again.

Raspberry and Strawberry Buckle

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Yum! I used this recipe with strawberries and pears, and it is wonderful. The changes i made: i used buttermilk instead of yogurt because of what i had available. I also used a spring form pan since i didn't have the recommended size, and i saw the warnings from other reviewers. I did use the full 1/2 cup of butter for the topping, and i baked it the full hour and 15 minutes. After it cooled a few minutes, the spring form released very easily, leaving a very attractive cake. I've never eaten anything like this, but i'm enjoying it immensely. The cake is very fluffy and a great contrast to the tart sweetness of the fruit. Coffee cake? no, i don't think so. This is in a class of a its own. Thanks for the great recipe!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
These were perfect! I did make one change. I used butter flavored crisco instead of butter. The best pb cookies i've ever made. Perfect texture, perfect flavor. Yum.!

Rich Chocolate Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
This is AWESOME! I really like some rich chocolate, so i doubled the cocoa content. The flavor is SO yummy! I've been looking for SO long! I think that next time i will add an egg yolk or double it and use 5 eggs instead of 4 to help offset the additional cocoa dryness. I also added walnuts. YUM YUM!

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
This isn't even close to my definition of a brownie. And mine didn't look anything like that picture either. Since i took them out of the oven, the texture keeps changing, and the flavor is not brownie-like at all. Won't be trying this again.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
These are awesome! Probably the easiest yeast type bread i've ever made. I wanted something to use for buns for Mexican Hamburgers (you know the rectangular burgers), and these worked out great! I didn't want wonderbread fluff; i wanted a hearty tasty bread, and i got it. I will use this recipe again for bistro sandwiches and hearty dinner rolls. I'm also very tempted to try a larger version for bread bowls. This bread is the perfect consistency with a nice crispy outside.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I don't generally like cake. And i always think that chocolate cake doesn't taste like chocolate...until now. This is wonderful. We can't stop making it and eating it. Normally, i will bake a cake, and my husband will take it to work to share with his buddies. Usually, he will come home with half the cake left. This time, he made the mistake of taking it to work, and he almost didn't get a piece at all. This recipe is easy, moist, yummy, and serious crowd-pleaser.

Six Egg Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
After reading the other reviews and comparing this recipe to another i've used recently, i changed a couple of things, and it turned out great! First, i eliminated the baking powder. This eliminated the overflow problem and gave it a definite pound cake texture. Also, i used 2 cups white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar for a little twist. It was delicious! A perfect stand-by bundt cake recipe that can easily be slightly altered to accommodate different flavors.
