Maple-Poppy Seed Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
I really love this dressing. I use it on a mixed green salad with mandarin oranges, sliced strawberries, and red onions. I recently made this for a PTA luncheon with grilled chicken and it was a huge hit. I always make it with the "olive oil mayo" and "real" maple syrup, I was asked for the recipe at least 20 times.

BREAKSTONE'S Triple Chocolate Bliss Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
My Mom has been making this cake as long as I can remember but she adds chocolate chips and doesn't make the ganache. I being the chocolate adict that I am, added the chips and the ganache. I am really not a cool whip fan so I used heavy cream, semi sweet chocolate, and powdered sugar to make mine. This cake is rich, moist, and delish. I am a caterer by trade and make this cake very often as it is not costly, and always amazing.

Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
I made these today and they were amazing! I chopped the peaches ahead of time and topped them with 1/3 cup of sugar and let them sit for a little over an hour. I think the sweetened juice really must have done the trick since I did not have to add milk. I also reduced the cinnamon and added a tablespoon of vanilla (I can never follow a recipe exactly). I wanted to put a streussal topping on them but my food processor blended instead of making crumbs of my brown sugar, butter, flour mix so I dropped clumps of that on top and it sank to the bottom of the muffin and melted into an ooey gooey caramel center in the middle of each muffin. I will make these again and again.

Best Ever Butter Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
I had some bad luck with the egg whites to start with but my mixer is the cause of my bad luck........second attempt was fine after I chilled the bowl and beater. End result was a light fluffy frosting with a high gloss finish like that of royal icing. The flavor was light and delicate and perfect. I did mix for 20 minutes with the Kitchen Aide and was pleased with the results. I did not experience the curds as previous people had commented. Overall I really like this frosting.

Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
I needed a basic yellow cake recipe to convert to a coconut cake because I hated all the recipes I found for coconut cake. This one worked amazing! I used cream of cocunut in place of the orange juice and topped it with a buttercream made with cream of coconut instead of milk and added flaked coconut to the top. It was amazing!!!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
ok so I love sweet bread and decide to make this to go with a spicy sausage minestrone soup. Awesome combo!! I'm no good at mesuring and generally guestimate since I don't even own a measuring cup...made two double recipes figuring since I have made bread a zillion times I could pretty much wing it...man was I wrong!!! First batch failed: not enough flour I royally botched it. Second batch amazing!! I don't use loaf pans so I braided it slapped on an egg yolk wash and baked like an hour since I used one recipe per loaf...looked amazing tasted even better!!! Thank you for the great recipe!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I did not care for this recipe at all. I cannot beleive the rave reviews it received. This is worse than can pasta. True alfredo sauce is actually easier to make and does not compare. Cream cheese is now on my list of things that do not mix with italian cuisine right next to cottage cheese in lasagna...

Deluxe Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
WOW!!!! Let me just set up this story by saying that i came down with pnemonia and a kidney infection but had promised my children's school that I would provide sugar cookie cutouts for their Christmas parties. I mixed up five batches of dough and put them in the fridge last night and then was unable to finish them, I awoke this morning and my husband who is a great cook but absolutely never bakes actually rolled cut and baked these cookies for me. They came out amazing, he said they were incredibly easy and they are quite delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe!!!!!
