Turkey Potato Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
Loved this recipe. I wasn't sure what the Alfredo Sauce in a jar was, but I did have 3 packets of Alfredo Sauce Mix. So, I made the sauce myself. 1-1/2 cups milk, 2 tbs butter, and 3 (1-1/4 oz) Alfredo Sauce Mix. Eliminated the milk from this recipe since I had already used it in making the sauce. I didn't think it was going to turn out so good, because when I took the foil off it was very leaky, but in the end of the 20-25 minutes the sauce evaporated into the dish. Would not change a thing about this dish, except I still do not know what the Alfredo Sauce is.

Ukrainian Country Babka

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
This was a great recipe. I did cut the recipe in half. Used 1 cup dried raisins mixed with cranberries. Turned out better with the cranberries the second time. I also used my bread machine, but hand folded the raisins/ cranberries. The first time I used only the raisins and tossed them into the bread machine. Didn't turn out so good. The raisins were all torn apart. I also noticed that once you fold the raisins/cranberries in, the rise before you bake takes almost all day. Without the raisins/cranberries it takes only 2 hours for it to rise. I made half the dough without the raisins/cranberries and then half with. Make sure you let the dough rise in a butter spread pan before you bake. I warm my oven for a few minutes and then turn it off and let the dough rise in a warm area. After its done baking I spread lightly in mixer: first 1 egg white until fluffy then add powdered sugar until thick. Spread it on the warm bread as soon as it’s done baking and let it dry. Can also sprinkle the top with sprinkles before it dries.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This cake is perfect. I did use plain yogurt instead of buttermilk and added only 1-cup sugar. With all the adjustments, it still tasted great. Use Aluminum foil brushed with oil to help it come out easily because the cake itself is very moist and may I say delicious.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
This is a great recipe. Added double the amount of ham & potatoes, like everybody suggested. Fried the onion & ham to a golden brown color & then added them into about 12 cups of homemade chicken broth. Did not add the butter, flour or milk. Tasted great anyway. I am not a big fan of adding sour cream or milk to soup. Also added one chopped carrot & red pepper flakes.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Excessively fating. My husband actually got sick afterward. Would maybe make it with fat-free sour cream & fat-free milk next time.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I made the recipe & baked it in a cupcake form @ 250* for about 2-3 hours. They still turned out raw looking in the middle. I think it's because of all the banana's & sour cream. I will not make this recipe again. The taste is good, but the look is raw looking.
