Chicken Teriyaki with Asparagus

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Oh my! Do not hesitate to make this one. I made this exactly as stated and it was absolutely delicious. Served it to five other adults. There was not a scrap left. This is a keeper for how delicious, appealing to the masses, and easy to make. Plus it's a little fancy looking.

Roasted Potatoes with Tomatoes, Basil, and Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Everyone loved this. Great flavor with the basil and tomatoes. I did wait until last ten minutes to mix in the basil. Made the mistake of waiting to throw the rosemary in then, too. That should probably go in right in the beginning. Also, I quartered the red potatoes and cooked it at 400 degrees for 35 minutes and they were perfect.

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
I made this recipe exactly as listed. I did not alter it. It was lovely. You could easily serve this for company. Dressing is really potent, ginger, tangy.

Mary's Healthier Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
I didn't want to rate this recipe, just comment, but it is forcing me to rate it. I think the problems I had were my own fault and not because the recipe is bad. I had difficulty with boiling and shredding the potatoes. Mine were probably a bit overcooked and tasted kind of like paste. This was problem #1. I think knowing just how long to boil, how much to soak up the liquid with paper towels, etc. is really important and maybe comes with experience. I then realized I didn't have cottage cheese, so I used cream of mushroom soup and some parmesan (which is kind of not good together). I mean, it was edible the first night but I tossed it out the next day.

Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This was very good. I didn't rate it as 5 stars because I am not a big fan of the bright, lemony flavor on pasta.

Baked Rice and Vegetables in Broth

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This was good. I did omit the brown rice and carrots and maybe with these two ingredients, it would've been even better.

Berry-Filled Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
This cake doesn't raise very high and mine turned out fairly dry, though perhaps it was a little overcooked. The flavor was quite nice though and it looked beautiful.

Chicken and Red Bean Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
These were good. Everyone said they liked them. I would recommend using something other than kidney beans just for the way it looks. I did find it a bit more labor intensive than it first appeared.

Very tasty and no one knew it was made "low fat". This is the dip we use for vegetables now.

Burnt Sugar Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
Tender, delicate, mild-flavored cake. I thought it grand with just a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Others thought it would be best with some type of frosting. I would love frosting recommendations from anyone reviewing this recipe-

Chicken-and-Pasta Bake with Basil

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
I thought this was a lot of work. Also didn't like the flavor combination of basil with brocoli. Sorry.

Herb Chicken Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
Tasty and easy to make. I couldn't find the "herb chicken" tortellini, so had to use mozzarella. It was actually pretty good.

Cheesy Mexi-Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2005
Only 3 stars but I think part of the problem was the rather mushy brown rice I used. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

Yogurt Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
I thought this dip was much too salty. However, it had a delicious flavor. I would recommend cutting down on the seasoning salt and maybe using garlic powder instead of garlic salt.

Grandma B's Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
Beautifully simplistic recipe. I will make this again. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it was a touch too bland for me. Next time, I will try adding something to spice it up just a little bit.
