Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2015
Made exactly as directed. Thanks for the awesome directions W.J. Cory! They helped tremendously. This soup is easy to make and extremely tasty. I actually made it after work and it is not too involved for an after work kind of quick meal. Am definitely making this again--husband and 12 year old child loved it, too.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2015
No lie---EVERYONE loved this at a family gathering. You could hear them all going "Yum..this is soo good.". "Why is it soo good?". "It's smooth and yummy.". So don't hesitate to make this for a group. Make it just as stated. Easy to transport and heat it up at someone else's house.

Southwest Chicken Taco Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
I have to give this 5 STARS even tho I only made the chicken part of it. Everyone in the family loved it. We will make this again and again. Just the right amount of heat and spice. Made as directed in this recipe, it turns out very moist. My husband and I ate it on lettuce with tomato, avocado, jalapeno, cheese. I had French dressing and taco sauce on my salad and he put Caesar on his. Our son, age 12, at the chicken on heated up tortillas. Everyone was extremely happy and said this was one of the best meals we have had EVER.

Sara's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
Made exactly as stated. Turned out perfect. This is a somewhat spicy (not bland and watery like some other recipes)pie with a nice, rich color. Everybody loved it. Day after Thanksgiving several of them wanted to know if there was "any of that pumpkin pie left".

Emily's Famous Parmesan and Peppercorn Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2014
Just finished making this exactly as stated (unless you count the fact that I used sea salt instead of regular salt). It is DELICIOUS exactly as stated. I think what makes it so good is the combo of the fresh parsley and green onion. I would not change a thing. To me, adding garlic to it would make it something else entirely. Don't get me wrong, I love me some garlic. But not in this. This is excellent just as stated, letting the flavors of the fresh parsley and green onion come through. Yum!!!!!

Spicy Fish Tacos with Fresh Lime Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
First time we ever had fish tacos in this house. Made recipes exactly as stated. Quite tasty. My 12 year old wouldn't touch the coleslaw topping, so he just ate the fish and tomatoes in the taco shells. We thought this recipe was tasty, healthy, and kind of "special". Try it!

Eggs Benedict Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
Just served this for Christmas morning breakfast. The immediate comments were that it looked so beautiful. Someone said it looked like a picture out of a magazine. I made it exactly as stated in the recipe. I would not "ruin" it by adding cheese to it, as some reviewers have suggested. Let the hollandaise sauce shine thru, for something special and different. The ONLY suggestion I would make for improving it would be to make homemade hollandaise sauce---it is just that much better than the packaged variety and is not much more difficult than making the packaged kind (both you have to whisk it and watch it carefully on the stove as it thickens). So, the packaged variety doesn't really save you that much work.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
Have made these several times. They are really good. I do use ground turkey and last time I made them, threw in quite a bit of fresh chopped parsley, just 'cause I had it to use up. They were wonderful. I mean, when there were only two meatballs left the next day, there was a discussion around the table about cutting them into halves so everyone could get half of a meatball. That should tell you how tasty they are. One word of caution: don't overcook meatballs. Pull them out of the oven when they are 'just done'. That way, they are nice and tender.

Husband and young son loved this. Served over potato rolls purchased at the bakery. Threw in just a few peas. Also NOTE: freezes excellently, so make some now, throw some in the freezer, have it again next week.

Sweet and Spicy Green Beans

Have made this many times. Sticky, spicy, tangy and fabulous! You can't mess this recipe up. You can over cook it or under cook it and it still tastes good. Even tastes good cold the next day.

Delicious flavor, will make again. Suggest that you peel the eggplant and cut it up fairly small just because it looks better that way.

I am eating a bowl of this now. Very good. Creamy. My 10 yr old liked it and so did my husband. We added spices like others suggested (salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary). It's a keeper---good weeknight supper.

Jan's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
I had to take a minute to put a review in here because this was such an exceptionally nice cake. I made it in a 9x13 and followed instructions exactly. It rose high in the pan and had such a lovely texture and taste. I don't think you can ask for anything more in a chocolate cake. I frosted it with a "5 min fudge" frosting that you boil. Everyone loved it.

Vegetarian Burrito Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Oh my gosh people, this is a keeper! Make a 9x13 pan of it and just cut slabs off of it for days! Each day in the fridge, it tastes better and better. Absolutely delicious and different. Kind of like a Mexican lasagna. Only changes I made was chopped green chiles instead of jalapenos and I made in a 9X13, just laying the tortillas in the pan and tearing them as I needed to fit the shape of the pan.
