It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
Very good and versatile recipe, easy to tailor perfectly to taste. I use 1 lb beef and an extra can of beans, low sodium spicy V8 and lots of good quality chili powder. It's always dependable and delicious. The V8 juice is such a great shortcut! I've made it at least ten times, it's my go to chili recipe.

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
Really delicious. Used light cream cheese (neufchatel) and it was fine. The rest of the recipe I did as written. It's delicious hot with pita chips, and it's spectacular the next day, too, cold out of the fridge as a spread for a sandwich or on rice cakes. I think I might top some baked chicken breasts with it for dinner. Very tasty and versatile.

Bacon-Roasted Chicken with Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
Delicious. Made with breasts, cooked in 45 minutes at 400. Used the idea to place chicken on a wire rack above potatoes. The bacon drippings made the potatoes extra flavorful and not greasy at all. I placed three thick bacon strips over each breast and served with honey mustard sauce. Killer. Might baste with mustard sauce under the bacon next time. And there will be a next time!

Tomato, Cucumber and Red Onion Salad with Mint

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Fresh and yummy! I chopped up the tomatoes and let them sit while the cucumbers were in vinegar, then drained the liquid before tossing together.

Thai Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
So flavorful! I followed the recipe and it is a delicious taste explosion when served with bottled Thai peanut sauce to dip. I did not skewer, I cooked the pieces quickly in a grill pan and the chicken was juicy and addictive. One of the best allrecipes I've ever made! Fresh cilantro is important.

Moussaka

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
Very flavorful. The preparation time is way off the mark. Make the day before or start at lunchtime if you want this for dinner. I took some suggestions from the reviews, including adding sliced roasted potatoes to the bottom of the dish (I've always had it that way) and adding the eggs to the bechamel. Next time, I won't add the eggs. The crust was puffy and eggy, but the sauce didn't settle into the top eggplant layer, leaving it rather dry. That was not in the original recipe and I can't fault it, so 5 stars it is! Excellent. I am bringing this to feed a crowd for Greek night. Opa!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Made according to recipe, no changes. Very tasty. I served it on toasted french bread rounds topped with chopped cilantro and minced fresh jalapeno. I had to use 6 oz chopped canned jalapenos to get any sense of bite. Might try next with cheddar, 1 c parm was salty.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Delicious, but tastes a little sweet even though I cut down on the sugar. I would halve the sugar, then add more to taste. The fresh cilantro is a must! I will make this again and put in some diced sweet peppers.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
I had to cook it longer to get it to 180, but it is moist and flavorful. I even used Smart Balance, and it came out delicious. Plenty of drippings for a quick gravy, too. And the celery is yummy!

Easy Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Good recipe, easy to spice up to taste. I LOVE the turkey kielbasa. The only thing I changed was using red peppers instead of green and really carmelizing them. They're so sweet!

Chicken Stuffed Chiles

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
made with poblanos and mixed hot taco sauce with enchilada sauce for spice. This is incredibly good, even with reduced fat cheese. Next time (and there will be a next time!) I'll throw some chipotle into the sauce. Incredible flavor in the roasted peppers.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Used the graham cracker crust and cornstarch option. The custard set beautifully. I took it to a party and after a few hours out of the fridge on the dessert table it did get runny, but that didn't keep everyone from eating it! Serve cold and it will not be runny. Delicious banana goodness.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Way too much soy sauce. Should have listened to other comments. Will make again but half the soy sauce. So salty this way it burned my lips.

Thai Quivering Tenderloins

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Absolutely incredible. Only made personal taste changes, more red pepper flakes, simmered the sauce with vegetable stock. Husband called it the Death Planet of dinners. Meaning, if any other dinner tried to approach it, it would be instantly destroyed. Marinade bursts with fresh flavor. KILLER recipe.

Hearty Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
Husband declared this the best meatball sandwich ever. Reheating tip - heat slices and sauce in saute pan for a few minutes before assembling sandwich. LOVE the flat meatball sandwich. It's a forehead-smacker, it's so obvious.
