Butter Schnitzel

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
I really enjoyed this recipe. The pork was so tender. I too reduced the amount of butter in the sauce. I used cremini mushrooms and sautéed them before adding the wine. I would have given this 4.5 stars if possible. My husband really liked this also.

Creamy Egg Salad Sandwiches

I thought the lemon juice made the salad too wet. Next time I'll try lemon zest instead.

Mushroom Soup Without Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
As suggested by other reviewers, I added the garlic and Worcestershire sauce. I used a combo of portabella and shiitake mushrooms. I made this twice in one week. I had orzo in the pantry so that's what I used. Great soup and I love that it doesn't have cream.

Roasted Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
I used chicken stock and garnished each bowl with a sprinkle of cayenne for presentation. Everyone loved it. My husband who doesn't like veggies loved the soup. I've made it twice already and even froze some. It's a keeper.

Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
This was a good recipe to use for a quick sauce. I ran out of ready made and used this instead of running to the store. I did use the emulsion blender to make it a smoother sauce rather than a chunky one.

Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I'm glad others had success with this but after 3 failed batches I quit. I always had easy, fast success with the marshmallow fondant recipe and went back to that. The ingredients are far less expensive with the marshmallow and I think it tastes good too.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I have tried the other recipe using glycerin and glucose. Three batches were bad and way more involved than this one. This one is fast and easy to make. I only waited 1.5 hrs and it was good. Hint when using a kitchen aide mixer: butter the marshmallow bowl before nuking the mallos and they will slip right out into the metal mixer bowl. Next time I will try buttering the metal mixer bowl too. One batch covered an entire topsy turvy cake which was three tiers, each tier was 3 layers.

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
After reading several reviews, I sauteed the onions and fresh garlic, then seasoned the turkey with the Italian seasoning. Instead of the canned tomatoes, I used Rotel which really kicked it up a few notches! I also added some cooked rice to the stuffing. I did pre bake the peppers for 15 minutes and had to bake the stuffed peppers an additional 10 minutes for the peppers to be more tender. My husband and mother in law loved them.

Banana Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I thought this was lacking something. It could have had a little more zing to it for all the effort of making it. It makes alot for one loaf. It would have been better as one loaf and a little something else because it took much longer than the required time to cook. I used craisins instead of the raisins and wish I added nuts too.

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I made this exactly as the ingredients were listed. I also added some pineapple, simply because someone just gave me some fresh pineapple. I also thought it needed a little salt to bring out the flavors. This certainly is a terrific salad and would be great for a party

LuvAnn's Guacamole

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
WAY TOOOO SALTY!!!!! I am rating this on the original recipe and it is salty, which ruined the dip. I swore I would never make another recipe without first reading the reviews, but I did it again and it is too salty. I even used 3 avocados and the salt was crazy.

Baked Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
All I can say is DELISH!!! I read all the reviews and used alot of the modifications. I used beef broth instead of water, onion soup mix, and reduced the salt. I floured the beef and then browned it, which thickened the sauce, therefore not needing the tapioca. The entire family loved the stew and it was sooooo tender. I will definately use this recipe for years to come.

Tomato Basil Couscous Salad

I prepared this pretty much to the letter. It was delicious and easy to make. My husband, who usually won't eat anything that has green stuff in it had seconds. I would make this again.

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
I would give this a 4.5 rating. I read the reviews and added more wine to make more sauce. I also used fresh basil (because I had it). It needed some more zing to it so I added red pepper flakes and then we really liked it. I would try this recipe again.

Use less flour, it was very thick. Also use chicken stock instead of water.

Corn Medley

I followed the recipe quite closely except I substituted the onion with some chopped red peppers (hubby doesn't like onions). I also used fresh basil instead of the dried. It was enjoyed by all at my dinner party.

This was horrible. I like the creamy dips much better. I should have read the reviews before trying this. It was rated a 4 star but never should have been.
