Fantastic Lemon Butter Fillet

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2002
I thought this was fantastic! My husband wasn't to thrilled although he hates fish. I need to find a recipe to hide it in order for him to eat fish. The sauce was very good we both agreed.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2002
Excellent! I scaled this to serve two and was very happy!! I also tripled the sauce and tried it on chicken drumsticks which was very good! The only thing I changed was the baking time, it only needed 10-15 minutes on each side as I was only cooking for two.

Really good! Not too sweet for me, sauce was just perfect! My husband loved it which was great because he is such a picky eater.

Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
Wonderful! We loved it. Tastes like Hamburger Helper, but doesn't have the fake "out of a box" taste.

Mixture for Meatballs, Meatloaf or Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2002
Very good, although I would make sure to use extra lean ground beef. I didn't cook the meatballs in the sauce as I didn't want a sauce to rich. Baking them gets rid of most of the grease, and they are still very moist! Next time, I will probably try adding a little bit of BBQ sauce or steak sauce to the mixture to spice it up a little.

French Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2002
Excellent! My husband thought it was even better than the store! After 20 minutes of baking I did have to flip the loaf to even out the cooking a little as I was using a convention oven.

Barbecued Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2002
Very good if you want something a little different from the regular pork chops. I added a little more water though, and they came out very moist. I will definately make this one again.

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2002
Excellent! I actually cut this recipe out from the packaging of a Baker's Secret loaf pan. I added 1/2 cup of milk as I found the batter was very dry, and decreased the sugar to 3/4 cup (used brown sugar). Came out wonderfully light and tasty!

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2002
Very tasty. I was using butterfly pork chops, so I increased the temperature to 375 F, and baked them for 30 minutes on one side, 40 on the other, basting every 15 minutes or so. Came out very moist and flavourful.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2002
Very good, my husband loved it!! I cut the milk down to 1 cup and used a 9 inch cake pan instead of a pie plate which was perfect. Instead of putting the broccoli in the bottom, I added it into the egg mixture along with 2 1/4 inch slices of chopped up Blackforest ham and I substituted 2 small green onions for the 1 regular onion. I sprinkled half of the cheese in the bottom of the pie crust and stirred the rest into the liquids. I did not find it too wet at all, in fact I found it was very easy to slice and serve. The baking time had to be extended to 45 minutes in my oven.

Raspberry Lemon Muffins

The one mistake I made with this recipe was mixing it too much. I cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup and found the sweetness was just perfect.

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
VERY GOOD! I made this yesterday for our Thanksgiving (I'm from Canada) dinner. I cut the recipe down a little as we didn't have that big of a group. Instead of creamed corn (I didn't have any) I used canned crisp sweet corn and added half a can of milk to make it "creamed". I used 1 egg, and halved the rest of the recipe. Came out perfect. My husband said it is now his favorite way to eat corn.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
My hubby hates garlic, and loved this dish! I used large chicken breasts and halved the bread crumb mixture. Ended up throwing out only 1 Tbs. I beat the egg white until foamy, before marinating, and found the amount to be perfect.

I have tried many bread recipes, and I have to say that this one cuts the cake. Perfect texture and excellent for sandwiches, toast etc! Wouldn't change a thing

Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2002
Excellent! I made a few changes...... One box of jumbo shells made 4 dinners for my husband and I (5 shells each). I used 2 tubs of ricotta, only 2 cloves of garlic, 2 packages of spinach and 2 cans of Bravo sauce which I cooked with the garlic and 2 small onions. I bought 3 tin containers with cardboard lids (you can find them at the grocery or dollar store for a dollar something) and filled the three throwable containers and one regular baking pan with the shells. While our dinner was baking, I covered the rest of the containers with a piece of cardboard tightly and placed it in a freezer bag. After they had cooled, I threw them in the freezer for "TV dinners". Came out perfect!

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2002
Excellent after making a few changes! I like our gravy "browned" as it is in the packets you buy at the store. I put the flour in a hot saucepan and stirred it on medium heat until medium brown (don't burn!). In a seperate sauce pan I heated the butter and sauteed the onions until soft, then added the flour and 2 packets of bouillon. Adding the water slowly and whisking constantly stops it from sticking.
